So trying out a Magic format that's v proxy friendly and being me am getting... a tad silly with it

So I present some proxies in progress for my boyfriend and Is sword and shark canlander decks

I found indie commander 2.0 if anyone prefers playing commander, i, personally tend to default to it because my average deck is already 70-80+ cards sooo yknow

Its called canadian highlander, and while it is just 1v1s, I mean... unoffically and casually with your friends no one is forcing you to play 1v1, just like how commander isnt strictly 4pffa

Also the power system is better imo, powerful cards are given a score and you can only have a max number score of 10, i havent tried it yet but yknow, mtg purists will say "nuu you must play 1v1s in this format1111" but i mean... its your cards and your prolly just playing with your friends, play however you want, im still gonna break the rule ofn"no sideboards" i did that for edh and ill do it for ch, i dont play competitively and like. If you really have a problem with it just pretend im bringing out a new (but similar) deck

Stop lying to yourself. You LOVE resource denial, nothing makes you happier than blowing up lands. Your lover? Your kids? Your job that you worked so hard to get and truly enjoy? it all pales in comparison to LD. Today we are going to explore that idea of combing LD with Canadian Highlander in the third of our lists for this Month of Canlander.

The core of a deck like this is a critical mass of land destruction effects. 27 cards in the deck destroy lands. Some cards, like Wildfire or Ruination are symmetrical, while most are efficient 1 for 1 removal. there are a few repeatable effects as well. Army Ants lets you turn a land into a strip mine every turn, Price of Glory forces your opponents not to cast spells on your turn, and Deus of Calamity can lock the game down as soon as you’re ahead.

LD is only a part of the resource denial plan. With effects like Duress, Hymn to Tourach, and Stunted Growth you can make your opponent start to dump their hand. Stunted Growth is actually one of the best ways to end the game. When your opponent has a full grip of spells they cant cast being forced to lose 3 top decks in a row is backbreaking. Additionally, between efficient 1 for 1 removal such as Dreadbore, Terminate, and Flame slash and powerful 2 for 1 removal like Arc Trail or Forked Bolt, or even potential 19 for 1 removal like Fire Covenant. You should be able to keep your opponents board and hand empty most of the game.

Due to the number of symmetrical LD effects and six drops ramp is extremely important to the deck. Cards like Life from the Loam, Courser of Kruphix, and even Arbor Elf help make the most of your resources after losing all your lands. With 13 sources of ramp and all the LD it should be easy to get ahead of your opponents and start dropping threats. 

Of course other than rage scooping, you need a way to actually force your opponent to lose. Landing an efficiently costed attacker like Kird Ape or Terravore early, or slamming a big threat like Inferno Titan or Ruric Thar should be enough to end most games. 

I am really excited by Canadian Highlander and all the powerful archetypes that are viable in it. Hopefully this series of budget lists gives you some ideas and you’re encouraged to give it a try!
