WOAH YOU DO REALLY GOOD LAND ANALYSIS,, could i get one for the Page of Breath in the Land of Typhoons and Tranquility? all I know about it is that it's converted in oceans and Typhoons and the quest is to restore the natural typhoon-y weather when the Denizen gets rid of it (I mostly wanna hear the ascension story haha!)
you are the PAGE OF BREATH, and you are on LOTAT, the Land of Typhoons and Tranquility. your land is primarily made up of ocean, with little islands dotted across the planet. and while the weather is most often typhoon-y and stormy on the oceans, the islands themselves are quite tranquil and peaceful, as are the consorts.
the consorts welcome you with open arms, and when you ask them about transport to the other islands, they tell you that the only people brave enough to travel the dangerous waves are the pirates with their great reinforced ships. they tell you that the storms help to hide the islands, protecting them from the pirates
then, one day as you wander the island you’re on, looking for things to do, the storms stop. all of a sudden, nothing. the consorts look to the skies as the clouds all disappear. overhead, you see a great winged snake flying overhead, devouring the clouds.the consorts, naturally, panic. the storms that they’ve had since the eldest of them can remember are gone. out on the now visible oceans, you see hundreds of great ships, some of them headed towards the island you now stand upon.
the consorts turn to you, they tell you that you must chase the great snake and get the storms back. you tell them you can’t, there’s no way! but still they beg of you to help them. finally, you agree. as you see several of the pirates ships sail up to the banks of the island, the consorts push you off on a boat of your own. they send some of their best fighters and navigators with you to help you on your way. and you sail off into the sunset.
as you sail, you hear the consorts whispering to each other behind your back. “there’s no way this -TROLL/HUMAN/CHERUB- can kill the great denizen! who are we kidding!” one of them says “i read that only the Page of Breath can kill he denizen” another says “the page of breath is just a myth, we’re basically on a suicide mission!” says a third.you listen to them mutter and your spirit drops, but you try to ignore them. on the horizon you see another island approaching. this one is bigger than any of the other islands you’ve seen and has a great mountain, shrouded entirely by clouds! you swallow the lump in your throat and direct the ship towards the island. no going back now.
you’ve arrived at the island, and you stand on the beach at the cave entrance, preparing yourself. the consorts all stand on the boat, shaking. you step into the mouth of the cave, and turn back just in time to see the consorts leaving without you. you turn back towards the dark misty cave, and step in.
the further into the cave you go, the cloudier it gets and the harder it is to see. you think you feel something touch the back of your neck, and you panickedly spin around, but there’s nothing there.
finally, you reach the deepest cavern. you look up, up, into the carved paths you’ve been walking down all this time, and look at the tiny speck of sunlight that you can still see. then you turn back, and step into the deepest cavern.
as you step in, a gate crashes down behind you, trapping you inside, and the great winged denizen slithers up to you, grinning it’s wide, toothy grin. it wraps it’s long body around, until you’re surrounded by it (not wrapped up by it, but it’s just kinda slithering around you in circles). in a loud hissing voice it asks why you’ve come, and you tell it that you came to get the clouds back. you pull out your alchemized weapon and try to stop your hands from shaking. you lock eyes with the denizen, and for a moment you think you see a glint of fear, but it’s quickly replaced by humour and disbelief. the denizen laughs, and beats it’s great wings, pulling itself into the air. let the battle begin
the battle lasts longer than you expected, and as it goes on the wind made by the denizens wings pick up and blow away all the dust and dirt that had been covering the floor, revealing the blue stone underneath. but, inevitably, you are beaten down by the denizen. and as it prepares to finish you off, you feel a great energy flowing into you from the blue stone floor. the denizen stops, terror in it’s eyes, as it watches you bleed out and ascend. “NO! NO!” it cries, panicking. it tries to fly out of the cavern, but ends up repeatedly slamming it’s body into the walls of the cave. as your vision goes black, you see blue ribbons wrap around you. above, the denizen panics and flaps its wings, causing rocks and boulders to fall, crushing the both of you.
for the longest time, you don’t feel anything.
you hear wind in your ears, your lungs expand and you breath in more air than you ever have before. a great tornado of wind grabs you, and pushes the boulders off of you.there’s an explosion of wind, as the entire island is blown apart by the force of your Breath. the clouds the denizen had stolen fly into the sky, and you yourself supply the storm.
