canon architecture? i wish england was real :( -gloria [pokemon]
for the canon architecture game:
the washington monument from fallout 3.
it was just...there. I liked it, though. It was a landmark for direction (and area, depending on how close it was), which made it very useful. but outside of its usefulness, i just..liked having it there ???? Something about the presence of such an important pre-war monument still standing high above the rubble, always there, like an eye watching you at all times. it made roaming the d.c wastes much less scary
that, and the jefferson memorial building. i think maybe it was just the fact that my parents' dream was there, making all the fresh water for the wasteland. it felt like my place to be. it was safe there, to me.
(And yes, I know these places exist in the real world, but they don't have the same effect. I've been to D.C several times but i just...didnt feel the same way about them.)
.
@ architecture etc that we miss
my home city was so bright and beautiful. it was stunning, really. it always felt alive. color everywhere, no boring square skyscrapers, every building was unique. i miss heartland city tails i miss it a lot
(and perhaps most important of all, it had actually good public transportation.)
