Freedom.
It was week five in his indefinite stay in Radiant Garden, and the Replica was growing more and more agitated as the time passed. He was told that he would remain in his room longer if he continued to misbehave. His response to that was to throw Vexen’s clipboard at him. He wasn’t escorted back to his room after that, he was thrown in.
With a scream, the Replica punched and kicked at the door for several seconds before collapsing against it in a heap. A sob tore its way through him before he could stop it. He pulled his legs against his chest, dug his fingers through his hair, and remained in that position as he wept.
It wasn’t fair. He never asked to be made. He never asked to be brought back. If he was so dangerous, why didn’t they just kill him already?
His sobs eventually began to ease as he calmed. He scrubbed at his face with gloved hands and leaned his head against the door. Why wouldn’t they kill him? It was clear he didn’t want to be there. He’d made his decision back then, to give his life for Namine. The Replica closed his eyes, thinking back to his sacrifice.
As a stray heart, he had so easily entered the vessel his other self was inhabiting, like a fish would swim through water. Yet, just as easily, he had managed to abandon the vessel, as well. He wondered, then, if he could do it again.
He took a deep breath. Another. He closed his eyes, let his body go slack against the door, and--
He opened his eyes again, and he was standing. Behind him was the empty doll body they had tried to imprison him in. The Replica looked down at his hands, flexing his fingers. He was a bit transparent, but he wasn’t fading away. The Replica smiled a little, turned to face the window, and threw himself headlong through the glass.
It didn’t shatter with the impact, because there was no impact to speak of. He drifted slowly down into the gardens below and looked around himself in awe before turning his gaze to the sun. He had no physical form to feel its warmth. But the burning in his heart he felt, standing outside for the first time since his death, almost made up for it. He smiled.
What does your room look like?

“It’s supposed to be a bedroom. It feels like a prison cell. They don’t give me a lot of things because I throw things back at them. I tried breaking the window once. It didn’t work.”
