At first I disliked Todoroki due to his coldness & the way he would treat others and him half assing everything with his quirk. In this story I would have a really shitty past (for plot reasons, I'll be using references from my IRL life too) that's worse than Todoroki's (course he doesn't know). His assumptions on how everyone else has it better than him would irritate me to no end. Before this scene, in the battle trial I'd fought Todoroki and barely won (I would just be able to touch the bomb but I'd be trapped in ice lmao). During that battle I'd scold him for being a "selfish brat" & for being unfair. I think this would peak his interest since he's never had anyone confront him like that. I doubt anyone cares but I'll explain more if you guys want to ask questions...
