Hey Mneme! Question for you- have you ever presented a scientific poster? Do you have tips/tricks? How to I keep from spontaneously combusting from anxiety in front of the judges? Thanks for any advice

I have presented far far too many scientific posters!

Tip 1. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

Tip 2. Practice with a range of people! By range I mean, people who are familiar with your research to people who are tangential related to your field to people who are like “What is DNA???”.

Tip 3. Prepare a 3-5 minute intro spiel about you project! Record it. Cringe a lot. Repeat until you’re not completely abysmal.

Tip 4. Ask yourself, what is the motivation for your project! Why do you have those particular figures! Where do you see this project going and what is the overall goal/translational impact/etc.

Tip 5. Breathe. Remember you are the expert on your project.  

Those are all the ones I can think of right now!

Hey friend I saw your reblog of the princess and the frog fancasting and just wanted to point out: Naveen is absolutely racially ambiguous but Bruno Campos is considered white Brazilian. I def agree w Ur evaluation of Oscar Isaac in the role but if they based Naveen off of Bruno it was bc of his personality and hopefully not his race. Which is white. Hope i make sense. I get stupid trying to explain my own nationality to people.
