OMG, this is really getting ridiculous now. Everybody around here is screaming in terror. The politicians are like: "OMG we HAVE to do a thing!" but all they do is debate and not actually doing something that makes sense. The people living here are like: "OMG, people from OUTSIDE our country are INVADING us, the horror, aaaah! They will take away our jobs and rape our children and do whatever bad things to us if we take them in!" And all I can think is: Are you fucking STUPID?! Did you even try to inform yourself about the actual situation?
These people ran for their lives, they escaped their country, because of war and the only option they saw for themselves was either to get on a boat to a live-or-death-sailing across the damn sea in hope to save their lives, or to die in the gunfire or from whatever the enemy shot at them.
And now you fucking people are complaining these refugees might even have the time to think about raping your damn children or taking your jobs away or do whatever harm to your precious, fat-ass, lifestyle? Are you kidding me? These refugees are traumatized, the least you can do is to be sympathetic. This does NOT mean to go on the streets and yelling at them to get the fuck away, nor does it mean to set their future homes aflame, after the state at least tried to do a little something for those people.
And don't bring an argument like: "Oh, but they are foreigners, they are not like us, they aren't our culture." or whatever.
Well, no these people are from somewhere else, but know what? We all are, especially in Germany, there are a fuckton of people living here from different places, who only were divided into 16 different states, because before that there were over a damn hundred of them and it was chaos (like with taxes and the like). The only thing uniting us is our language, which isn't even spoken the same way in every state. We are all individuals, what a shock! And now even more individuals are coming to this country - oh noes... Seriously, what gives? I don't get this.
So what if they're foreigners? So what if they don't look like us? These people are traumatized from war and in case you forgot, that hit us in recent history as well, look back to second world war and remember all the displaced people then. They had to flee from their homes because of the enemy, too, they were scared as well. They had to leave most of their possessions behind and move on to somewhere they were afraid to go, too. They had to fear for their lives as well, it was horror, a lot of them died.
So how is this different today? Are these refugees just different, because they come from across the sea and not just from another state of Germany (or the east, west, south or whatnot)? But they are scared as well, they leave everything behind to save their lives.
The most important part for these people is to get to a place where they can rest. Nobody says they'll stay forever, because even if they fled their country, they might still miss it, since they were born there. And even if they happen to stay forever, who cares? We are dying out anyway, the birthrates are down for ages now. We might as well welcome some people willing to come here to fill in the gap.
And that argument with taking jobs away; hell if you happen to make a job that terribly, that everybody from wherever can just come up to you and take it away from you, there's something wrong with how you do your job. Besides, our asylum policy doesn't even allow that. You cannot work here as soon as you get here, it's impossible. Bureaucracy over here is shitty as can be and it's especially hard on foreigners... We are already pretty much deterrent in that direction, so the least we can do is to be friendly on the human side of things, no?
I once read that one post on twitter, where somebody was asked what he would say to the refugees and he answered with: "How about: 'Hello.'"? I'd like for us to be like this guy, honestly.
