i'm sure i've seen you answer something like this before, but i can't find it! :(
i'm just wondering if you have any advice or hints for how you make your moodboards or any like, headers for your fics?
i've got a free canva acc but i'm not very good and honestly, i don't really understand how to work it! hahah, i'm so technologically challenged lmao.
so really i'm just wondering if you have any tips or advice? i'd like to make a header or a board for something i'm working on, but i'm always worried about the photos i'd be using in case it's copyrighted and stuff.
thank you in advance my lovely! i hope you're having a wonderful day :)
sweet meghan hi honey!! bless you for thinking of me I'm really touched <3 I believe the post you probably saw is this one where I talked a little about my process for making moodboards in affinity photo!
I use affinity photo for all my graphics, so I'm not super familiar with canva in a tumblr graphics capacity, but here's what I've been able to sus out:
in canva, I recommend (at least at first while you figure out the basics) using their free templates! under their template search tool, which you can find in the toolbar on the left side of the screen, you can search by keyword for the type of template you want:
for example, there are so many gorgeous free moodboard templates (search link here) like these. (note: any templates with the gold crown icon cost money, just fyi!) - but I'd try searching 'banner' or 'header' or things like that too, for other styles that might work for header graphics!! but I think you could also use a lot of this style for that too <3
once you find one you like, you can click it and then select 'customize this template:
that'll open up the editor for you, and on the lefthand toolbar you can select uploads - there you can upload whatever images you want to include!! then you can drag & drop your photos into the template, like this:
then you've got something like this! elements like text and colors and backgrounds can all be edited - and you can move the photos around / adjust their size by clicking on them and then picking whatever option you please from the toolbar that appears!!
as for copyrighted images, etc. that's not really my realm of expertise (I use pinterest to find photos for my graphics which is definitely not perfect) but I generally try not to use photos that are clearly phone photos of a random person's face or body (just personally feel sorta weird about raiding their photo gallery haha) but if a photo is clearly a *photoshoot* of some kind, I go for that instead! again, that's just what I personally aim for (I'm not perfect) - trust your gut and do what works for you! <33
this is a little long (oops) but I hope it helps honey!! feel free to holler anytime if you need help with something - I'm not an expert by any means but I'm always happy to chat and help where I can <33
