All right so this is a small response to a video by Clement and for the sake of most of you I'm going to put a read more bar here in case anyone is tired of the whole Capcom/Megaman argument. It's a topic that gets on everyone's nerves and I don't know whether or not this might cause a chain reaction. Okay, let's get this freight train rolling.
So if you watched the video you know what this is sort of about. If not well I'll boil it down to "It's been 3 or 4 years and we shouldn't be mad at Capcom because they are still giving Megaman attention by re-releases and products".
Too an extent I agree with this, I've never played most of the Megaman games aside from the games that can be easily emulated and not many game franchises have 50+ sequels. What I disagree on is how people should not be mad at Capcom. There is still a fair lot to be mad about.
With it all starting with Megaman not being in MvC3 with the half-ass excuse of not having a good enough move set for the game. Which is silly because he's been in the previous 2 games.
Then with Inafune leaving Capcom were 4 games getting cancelled. Those being in the order of cancellation: Rockman Online, Megaman Universe and the final nail to 2011's supposed year of Megaman games, Megaman Legends 3.
Of course these games had different reasons for their cancellation with Universe not having huge priority and the 2011 Earthquake/Tsunami and Online being canned because NeoWiz went through a reconstruction.
The only jerk-ish reasoning for a cancellation I can think of was with Legends 3 being cancelled because of a lack of support. Now this wasn't entirely directed at the fans but it does feel like it was part of the reason, especially with how it had fan submissions for the game.
And now Capcom has no idea what to do with Megaman. I mean they do seem to still show affection for the series but it's in a really, REALLY lazy manner.
I'm not going to say Capcom just want's money. I think their are people there who really want to make games that people want and if that wasn't the case then their wouldn't be any remake of DuckTales or anything related to Strider.
I might be contradicting myself but what I'm trying to get across is that Capcom still cares for Megaman, they are just really lazy with trying to make up for 3 cancelled games with one of them being a long awaited sequel.
To boil it down even further. You have a right to be mad at Capcom. You don't have the right to say they don't care. I do seriously think that they should make a proper Megaman game to truly amend this.
Honestly I don't expect this furious outrage to go away until that happens. Pretty much this is the Sonic fanbase outrage of 2004-2009 again except this isn't about bad games but instead, just wanting a game.
