I'm half-finished with a reply to Lysandre, so I want Clair back.
Things just wouldn’t be the same without our dragon queen.

"Incredible? /You/?" Clair tossed her head back and laughed loudly. "The only thing that's /incredible/ is your pitiful attempts to keep your ego inflated." Her laugh was cut off as she became serious, her eyes narrowing into pinpricks. "How about I teach you a lesson in modesty?"
“Excuse me? What’s really pitiful is your suggestion that you, the self-proclaimed ‘World’s Best Dragon Master,’ knows anything about modesty.”
All this spookiness has put me in a slump! I'd like to place both my girls on hiatus, please.
The spookieness got to you, too... Good luck... Don't get too spooky while you're gone...
Clair and Jupiter will get a hiatus until 11/12!

Clair is ready to come off of hiatus! I still need a day or so on Jupiter, though.
Welcome back, lovely! Clair will be taken off hiatus, but Jupiter will stay, I extended it to the 25th for you! If you need an extension, let us know! It’s good to have our dragon master back!

Poor, Unfortunate Soul || Giovanni + Clair
Although known for its near-constant storms, the Lake of Rage was relatively calm on the day Giovanni chose to stop by for a visit. Of course, just because it wasn't raining didn't mean it was particularly nice out either; the sky was cloudy, and a cold breeze was blowing down from the mountains. Things were better that way, though—after all, poor conditions meant fewer visitors. People in this region knew him, or at least of him, knew his reputation and potentially even his face, and while he could walk the streets and remain anonymous with his hat keeping his features shadowed, it wouldn't take much at all to expose his identity. Just the right person, in the right place. Not that he was concerned with such an idea, not here of all places.
Giovanni enjoyed the Lake of Rage. He'd visited it occasionally after Team Rocket established their Mahogany Town base, but it had been years since those days and just as long since Giovanni had stood at its shores. It wasn't as though anything had changed, of course. The lake was currently at its normal water level, but the surrounding trees still showed signs of immersion from the massive flooding the area was known for, and Giovanni had no doubts about the continued existence of its Gyarados population.
The ferocious serpent Pokémon living beneath its surface were what made the lake intriguing, and worthy of Giovanni's ruminations. There were so many Magikarp, Giovanni could occasionally see the shine of their orange scales as they swam under the clear water. So much potential contained in such stupid creatures. Not that Gyarados were much more intelligent, but with the right trainer their capabilities could be successfully channeled, turning them into useful tools of destruction. Such was the way of any organization, Giovanni mused. Without a strong leader to guide subordinates, one could never hope to experience success.
Ideas on how to best improve the skills of Team Rocket's grunts occupied his thoughts as he meandered back towards Route 43. He wasn't planning on staying around the lake much longer; the sun was on its way to setting, and if he lingered for too long he'd find himself walking home in the dark.
Just as the trees were beginning to thin out, however, he spotted someone not too far off. Bright blue hair, and—was that a cape? Few people in Johto were obnoxious enough to don such an eccentric article of clothing, and Giovanni knew who this one was almost immediately. Though he had once been her Kanto counterpart as the region's eighth gym leader, he couldn't recall ever having made the pleasure of Clair Vanguard's company before. Of all the people he could possibly have run into, it had to have been the woman with Johto's most renowned temper. The same woman who just so happened to be the cousin of quite possibly the most persistent thorn in Team Rocket's side.
Even if she'd seen him, at this distance it was unlikely that Clair would recognize him right away, if at all. Giovanni would just pass her by without getting too close, and then be right on his way home.
