Ah! The inevitable “what the heck have you been posting about” question rofl
Fallen Hero: Rebirth is an interactive novel set in an alternate timeline where cybernetic modifications and drug-induced superhuman abilities have given rise to a new class of superheroes and villains. You take on the role of an ex-hero in the process of reinventing themself after making the decision to switch sides (why? well, wouldn’t you like to know), while also juggling their own life and all the messy loose threads of their past.
It is! Extremely good! Very solid and interesting worldbuilding, an insane amount of power and freedom over how you develop your character and story, excellent pacing and action, and emotional beats that WILL punch you directly in the heart.
AND... coincidentally, it’s 25% off on Steam right now (or you can get it as a mobile app if that’s more your speed). So if anyone’s at all curious, please take it from me, someone who’s never really been That Into Superheroes, it’s really really worth checking out.
wouldn't it be better if you bought your husband a cape? XD
OK but how to even narrow down my options? I am a giant nerd, and my tastes have always run towards an odd melange of flamboyant, geeky, and ridiculous (I realize this is coming as a huge shock to all of you, as I have been extremely subtle about my personal tastes). So I mean, I suppose I could buy him a semi-professional cape, like the one Larry David wears when he plays Frank Costanza’s mysterious lawyer in Seinfeld:
Y’know, something a gentleman can sport when out on the town on a nice autumn day.
But why wear something like that when you could wear, say, one of Peter Gabriel’s 1970s-Era Genesis capes, which is both covered in sparkles and multi-colored?
Or Rufus Wainwright’s cape covered in giant black feathers?
Or go grab something from David Bowie, whom I just assume never went anywhere without a steamer trunk full of ostentatious capes?
Or dress up an otherwise respectable, formal cape with a fancy chain, like Count Dooku?
(OK, I admit it: I included this one in part because that picture is objectively amazing.)
I guess I could just go for broke and set him up Lando Calrissian-style, because when you have a damn WALK-IN CLOSET FULL OF CAPES, a man can truly have it all:
...alas: while my husband is actually a very well-dressed guy, I just don’t see him going Full Cape. Although the mental image of him going to, say, pick up our children from school in any of these is honestly amazing.😄
It’s time to play: what will Jen do while doing laundry? Listen to a screenwriting podcast? Watch TV? Put music on and let my mind wander on plot lines.......
Or there’s always this option:
Choose between: Anakin's dramatic hair swoosh Vader's dramatic CAPE swoosh
Cape. As someone who can do a dramatic hair swish but can’t pull off a cape to save her life, I know which one I find more impressive.
Brb trying to singlehandedly make capes a thing.
