This was “ Kirab Budaya “ ( Culture Carnival ) on Cap Go Meh Festival - Feb 21th at Kota Tua - Jakarta ~ Indonesia. Cap Go Meh is day 15th of Chinese New Year. This “ Kirab Budaya “ here was the first time. Representations from every Chinese Vihara who joined this event, each of them carried Chinese gods / goddesses statues in palanquins as processions

This was “ Kirab Budaya “ ( Culture Carnival ) on Cap Go Meh Festival - Feb 21th at Kota Tua - Jakarta ~ Indonesia. Cap Go Meh is day 15th of Chinese New Year. This “ Kirab Budaya “ here was the first time. And as seen on pics, not just Lion and Dragon dance or processions of Chinese gods / goddesses statues, but also mixed with origin Jakarta ( Betawi race ) cultures, such as “ Tanjidor “ ~ the musical thing ( pic 8th from top ), ‘ Ondel - ondel “ ~ the big figures with masks as man and woman ( pic 9th from top ). At 7th pic from top, there were also cosplayers who dressed as Monkey King ( Sun Go Kong ) and other Chinese figures. Why Monkey King, i guess it’s because this year is year of the monkey according to Chinese calendar.
