The research technology lead will be the face of the research & analytics technology team in Europe, facing off to front office / research stakeholders as part of the global research technology team. The research & analytics technology team understand the needs of various asset classes and provide the tools, application, data analysis, data availability and infrastructure to empower the business to make effective, informed investment analysis and trading decisions. The lead will be expected to drive regional teams and projects and also hold key relationships with our technology teams such as development and support to ensure a cohesive effort. The lead will face off to key business stakeholders, understand evolving needs and look to enhance data analytics and tools accordingly as big data becomes an increasingly important component of trading intelligence. Working as part of the management team the lead will also work with the global head to advise and implement global strategy and roadmaps. Ideal skills / experience:- strong technology background, used to working with large data sets, building tools/applications, ideally worked specifically on data analytics/big data type/market data technology work.- strong delivery capability, facing off to stakeholders, understanding needs and translating these into technical solutions.- should have front office / capital markets knowledge/experience eg: fixed income, derivatives or equities.- may currently be in a development manager, project manager or similar data analytics/research technology capacity for another major financial/banking organisation.
