The sudden onslaught of a storm was obviously unexpected, and Wataru was absolutely unprepared for such a thing, not particularly wanting to get drenched and feel the weight of his hair double right now. So he goes with the reasonable option (for once) of finding the nearest building’s awning to temporarily shield himself under, not entirely avoiding getting soaked, but it was better than nothing. It looks like he’s not the only one who had this specific idea, though, and his lips curl into a sort of amused grin as he notes he at least recognizes the face a little.

“Oho? To cross my path again at a time like this must be fate ✰! You do not think this will pass so quickly, yes? In that case, since you are here, let us join for a game of cards! Patience, perhaps? Or Poker? Blackjack? Go Fish?”

Why yes, he absolutely just pulled out a deck of cards. From where? That in itself is a great mystery.

Okay fine, he’ll be honest. He hadn’t really thought twice about decorating the condo until he’d gotten into it, when he had the realization that his flatmates could come back at at any moment and he hadn’t mentioned beforehand he’d do something like this. And he’d spent a few minutes debating with himself on whether he should backtrack or not, but it felt silly to have hung tinsel up only to turn around and take it back down, maybe put it up again later. 

So here Kaito is now, standing on a chair in the living room, a bit tangled up in tinsel but he could deal with that easily. He hums softly to himself, and that alongside the fact that he’d gotten invested in the task again keeps him from noticing the sound of movement at first. It isn’t until he pauses his humming for a moment and hears footsteps that he stops in his tracks, suddenly vividly recalling his prior realization again. Oh, boy. Maybe he’s just imagining it!

...Nope. When he turns to look, tinsel shifting alongside his movements, Kaito finds himself meeting gazes with one of said flatmates. It’s a bit awkward, actually more than a bit awkward, what with him standing on a char looking like he does, and for a second he doesn’t know what to say at all. No, he doesn’t know what to say in general, but after a beat of awkward silence to accompany the moment he decides he needs to say something.

“Uhh... Welcome back?”

Yeah. Sure. That works.

inside ravus’ head

2: Do they have any daily rituals?

i think rather than daily rituals,   ravus just has a strict schedule of what he plans to do during his day-to-day life.   it’s a mix of his work,   accounting for breaks,   time to commute his new living area,   &.   whatever else he needs to bring up.   when there are deviations,   he adjusts accordingly,   keeping something like a planner in his mind.   he’s used to long hours of work   &.   not quite consistency to have those sorts of daily rituals   ---   so i think it’s more accurate to say that he just keeps to a plan,   to the best of his ability.

the only thing that could maybe be considered as a daily ritual,   &.   this is more of a personal headcanon than anything else,   is just drinking tea.   the flavor and reason for doing such can differ every day.   but the act itself is a constant within ravus’ life.

25: How do they see themselves 5 years from today?

this is   ...   an interesting question.   i don’t necessarily know if ravus has a particular long-term goal.   not that he isn’t the type to meticulously plan out a 42-step life plan if he couldn’t,   but i think its difficult to imagine a future when you aren’t even fully aware of the present.   he doesn’t know what happened in his world,   what he could consider as his real world.   his goal then would’ve been see lunafreya fulfill her duties until the end,   return king regis’ sword to noctis,   &.   go from there after noctis deals with ardyn   &.   the world’s demise.

so i’m not entirely sure what ravus’ plans are.   he could go along,   pretending to be a police officer for septaneus   &.   say he enforces justice here.   but he knows that doesn’t absolve him of his actions,   the sins committed in his own pursuit for a very selfish   &.   self-centered sense of justice.   i think for the time being,   until he grows close enough to someone to actually have the sort of conversation where he can speak about his intentions for the future,   he’s going through the motions of living here whilst trying to gather information about his own world.   he doesn’t know how permanent things are.   having lived in a world of temporaries,   constant changes,   a lack of stability   ---   especially having dealt with all that ravus has   ...   i don’t know if that’s an environment in which someone could look towards the future.

Strange. Numerous living and breathing zombies? What genre of horror had she suddenly stumbled into? Coming to terms with how useful she could be in this situation-- she figures with the note in hand... somehow there is ways to be of help.

                      ❝ Saihara-kun-- !!  ❞ with the note in hand she address her peer, glancing across the numerous tasks written across the paper as she tries to come up with a good enough plan.  ❝ Right, so where did you want to start? I was thinking whatever is closest would be best. ❞ Granted Kaede honestly has no clue, but they could figure this out together; that she knew of.

The residential area he was placed in seemed as though it only housed others like himself; off-worlders, as he’s come to understand. Perhaps that was preferable, when you’ve been suddenly brought into a world you’re entirely unfamiliar with that was already previously populated. Being with others in the same situation was a bit of a comfort, even for someone like Wataru, who seemed able to adjust to any situation with relative ease.

That aside--approaching the building in the middle of these condos that was referred to as the rec center, he takes note of someone standing outside of it like they’re uncertain of something. It could just be his imagination, but it could also be someone needing a little push to investigate their surroundings further. And of course, as someone with no problem simply waltzing up to others, he does just that.

“There is nothing wrong with taking a curious look inside, you know!” Wataru’s energetic voice bursts forth as he opts to move besides the stranger, bending forward a bit to peer up at them with a grin. “After all, is that not a natural thing to do? In a place where you are unfamiliar with all that is around you, you must absorb your surroundings and learn from what you see! This is quite a fascinating place, have you noticed ☆?”
