Jenevelle didn’t know what to expect when she took her sort-of-nephew Pluck to his soccer practice. She didn’t know the game, or the players, or the types of people she might encounter. All she knew was that his parents, Karlach and Wyll, were desperate for her help. She thought she was ready for anything but she never could have anticipated Pluck’s stern and mysterious coach, hugged in cute little shorts. Suddenly, soccer was a lot more interesting to Jen, and she began a game of her own. Her only goal? Score with Lae’zel.

She certainly never expected that, in the process, they’d both find everything they’d ever wanted.
