SO, my reign as "The Captain" ends next Saturday...

I have a question to ask all of you-

What should I do with this?  Should I hold "elections" for a new tumblr captain (out of those who are selected for real-life captaincy)?  Should I just ask for submissions? Should I delete this?  Really I am fine with any of these options...

I will say this: Being real life captain is hard.  Sometimes your Coach doesn't see eye to eye with you and vice versa. Staying calm and knowing when to blow off steam is really critical, especially because your senior year of college (and high school) can be rather stressful.

Ohio State University Rowing Hazing Scandal

Obviously it is hard to comment on these situations, since there are few details about what specifically the novice who reported was feeling, beyond being open about reporting these activities as hazing.  However, please be sure to conduct yourselves accordingly, as the NCAA and many states are both cracking down on hazing, while broadening the definition.  Just because no one has complained before, doesn't mean no one will.  That said, if you think you are in a hazing situation, you should probably start a dialogue with your teammates and coaching staff before going directly to something like an honor board, because often instances of uncomfortable situations can be the product of misunderstanding.  Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself.
