I've always loved the reversal of this scene from Season 1 to Season 4.
At the end of S1, we learn that the MC is the lost heir. This is horrible timing as Amara and MC have become closer since MC's arrival in the city. Amara, now duty-bound to MC, sworn loyalty to protect the Queen, can no longer show any signs of friendship. MC is in great despair, afraid she has lost her friend Amara forever, and is desperate for her to brush her lips across her hand, something that never happens.
Fast forward a few seasons, Amara and MC not only rekindle their friendship, but fall in love. After being told on numerous occasions that the Queen must marry, MC mirrors Amara's actions from Season 1, declaring her love and loyalty to Amara. You can see the surprise and shock on Amara's face at the display of this role reversal.
