Captain Bill Cipher x Pirate Wendy One-Shot
A Promise
Pirate AU Gravity Falls. Captain Bill Cipher X Pirate Wendy. One-Shot. The young Captain Bill is furious with the red headed woman, Wendy, for tricking him into trusting her and letting her join the crew. Rated T for language and slight violent deeds. Characters based off the original The Captain and his Cabin Boy series.
A/N:
Hey guys this is Cait here.
This fic is a one-shot of Captain Bill Cipher and Pirate Wendy based on the series my friend and I created called The Captain and his Cabin Boy with the following sequel called The Twin Rubies. I had this nagging idea in my head about the two characters and wanted to write a short fanfiction about them.
Now keep in mind, this story has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ORIGINAL STORY! But the character’s personalities are the same since, let’s face it, an author knows her characters. So trust me, I know what I’m doing.
Enjoy this story
Below the decks of The Golden Eye, Captain Bill was sitting down in a chair alone with only a small candle lit to illuminate the dark room. Even though the time of the day was in broad daylight, Bill wanted the solitude and darkness to envelop him. In complete honesty he wanted to be alone. He held the loose end of the bandage in his right hand while he roughly wrapped the fabric around the other.
“Blast that two eyed Stanley,” Bill muttered angrily to himself as he tried to bind himself up as best as he could, “He thinks he can just show up on my ship and take the boy away from me? Hah! Not on my watch…” The captain shook his head out of rage and slight confusion. The knowledge Captain Stanley acquired about his precise location, he had no clue. But he knew for sure who sent that old bloke the message.
Wendy. Bill’s lips curled into a snarl at the mere thought of that red headed woman. He brought her in blindly and now he cursed at himself for his stupidity and lack of caution. Even more so when he tried to actually learn about her.
Bill suddenly smashed his fist onto the table, “I should’ve killed her when I had the chance,” He growled. He did, in fact, lock her in the brig when the raid was finished and after that, Bill knew Wendy’s true motives for coming onto The Golden Eye. She didn’t come here to join his crew: she came here for Dipper.
The captain fumed through his nostrils as he tried to calm himself down. But suddenly his breath hitched, his body stilled in place and his ears perked up. He was no longer alone in this room. Bill slowly got up from his chair and turned his head slightly to the side towards the source of the presence. It could’ve been a small rat that scattered its way past him in the isolated cabin and the thought did cross his mind. But no...it was someone.
He reached for his knife attached to the belt on his waist and pulled the sharp blade from its small scabbard. “Who’s there?” Bill asked, his chin perked up high and his expression was poised as he clutched onto the hilt of his weapon.
“Oh don’t even try, blondie,” A voice replied from the shadows, keeping its distance from the candle’s flame. “You’ll end up hurting yourself more…”
Bill growled deep in his torso at the familiar nickname. However he did not move from his spot. Instead, he gingerly hid the knife behind his back and made it so he was seemingly crossing his arms behind his back. “It seems that the iron prison could not confine you as I hoped, my dear,” He said coldly, glaring into the darkness where Wendy presided.
“Did you really think it would be that easy to hold me?” A sudden soft jingle could be heard now like the figure was waving an object. The key to the cell Bill quickly realized. “I’m honestly hurt that you think so little of me.” Wendy said with a hint of mocking sarcasm.
Bill’s muscles tensed up around his neck in an effort not to gut out the woman like a live fish. He could practically hear her smirking and that boiled his blood to the highest temperature in his body. “You know I am actually glad that you escaped so quickly,” he said forcing himself a quick grin before glaring again and tightened his grip on the knife.
“Oh?” Wendy asked, taking a step forward towards the light. The shadows danced on her young womanly features and made her vivid, green eyes shine like they were the brightest in the room, “And what makes you say that?” Wendy tilted her head at Bill as if asking for a challenge.
The captain chuckled darkly, shaking his head as he looked down at the ground for a short moment. “Why,” he started, “So I can kill you right here and now,” Bill swiftly revealed his knife and made his swing at Wendy’s throat. Wendy took notice of the shining blade even before he attacked her and she grabbed his wrist with quick reflex and turned the blade towards Bill’s throat instead of hers. Her grip was tight and firm, far more than Bill expected in her but he said nothing of it as he anchored his head back, away from the sharp knife now against his neck.
“I told you before about my skills with knives,” Wendy said darkly, “Do you ever listen?”
Bill glared menacingly with his one gold eye straight into Wendy’s green ones and did not reply to her question. He only tried to pry out of her grasp, but she only tightened her grip as the result.
“Perhaps not…” Wendy muttered in disappointment as she looked back into his eye with the same anger.
“I may not have two eyes, lass,” Bill began, snarling through his teeth before taking hold of Wendy’s throat in one swift motion and gripped on her neck, closing her throat up with his bandaged hand. He smiled cruelly when he heard the woman gasp in surprise and loss of air. “But right now I am happy that I have another hand.”
Wendy tried to take in air as much as she could but, as expected, Bill himself tightened his hold around her. But she did not lose her grip on Bill’s wrist, regardless on how much pain and fire she felt. “Please let me explain, Bi-” She choked out but she was cut short as the pain grew.
“Give me one good reason why I should listen to a lying whore like you,” Bill hissed at her. “And you better be quick, I am dying to see that lovely face of yours turn pale and cold like stone.” He said with sick enthusiasm.
Wendy closed her eyes, actually feeling afraid of this man who threatened to take her life. “I just want my mother back…” She whispered out and reopened her eyes with a look of desperation. The girl looked like a lost 5 year old trying to get home and be with her family.
Bill blinked and suddenly his entertainment for her suffering and pain left him. His expression turned into complete and utter confusion. Out of all the answers she could’ve said, this was the one he didn’t expect. “What…?” he breathed out. Bill felt Wendy’s grip on his wrist loosen up and he noticed that she could not take the pain any longer. He withdrew his palm from her throat and Wendy fell to the ground, coughing and breathing heavily as she got air back into her lungs.
Wendy felt around her throat at the parts that hurt her most, knowing later that there would be bruises forming where his fingers grasped her skin. After a few minutes, she regained her composure and looked up at the captain with slight fear. She did not plan to tell him about her true mission in coming onto Bill’s crew. But she still couldn’t lie to him...not ever. “Yes...you heard me…” Wendy uttered out, trying to keep up her strong nature even after what happened.
Bill stared at Wendy on the ground. His feelings towards the woman were indecisive and confusing. He didn’t want to deal with them...but they were there to torment him. He turned his gaze to the knife in his hand and back to Wendy, “Explain. Now.” He ordered firmly but not in an angry way.
Wendy took in a deep breath as she obeyed to his command, “Remember that time when we looked at the stars and I told you the story of how I became a pirate?” She asked softly and received a nod from the other before she continued. “Well...there’s a reason why I did it in the first place. You see, my father was the one who raised me from a very young age until I was 12 years young. During that time, I used to walk into the village and see these...beautiful...kind women by these small children who looked up to them like their role model.
The women played with the children, they taught them, they loved them. And at the end of the day, they would leave in separate groups back to their homes. Those were the children’s mothers I saw...and I wanted to know where mine went.” Wendy paused at her story and looked at the ground to avoid Bill’s gaze for a moment. It was hard to bring out her inner feelings like this to someone. Especially to one she never thought would share.
Wendy looked at Bill again who waited patiently for her story to end. “I ran away from my father when he wouldn’t tell me where she went. It was then where I came across the first crew I have ever joined...and still remain to this day.” She swallowed down her emotions but she knew they would resurface again. “As I grew older with the crew of The Mystery Ship, so did my determination to find my mother. I was promised a way to find her if I were to bring back the boy with the mark. That’s where I found you and Dipper that night in the pub.”
Bill’s eyebrows furrowed as he processed everything she said to him. He could see her struggle on telling something this deep into her heart and he could relate. But he still felt frustration in his heart. “You lied to me, Red. You didn’t want to join on a grand expedition and my crew, you were only thinking about yourself.” He snapped.
Wendy winced slightly at Bill’s words but regained strength by the help of her growing anger towards him. She stood up on her feet, “I did not lie to you, blondie. I wanted to find my mother, I was desperate.” She argued, her voice rising as well to help empathize her point.
Bill opened his mouth to argue right back at her before Wendy snapped at his face “Bill I want you to look at me straight in the eyes and tell me that I’m not telling the truth!” A long silence filled the dark cabin and the candlelight flickered on the table, indicating that it was close to losing its flame. The captain stared at Wendy in shock when she used his real name.
Bill took the time to look into Wendy’s eyes with his own and he searched deep into her soul. He found no falter in her eye contact. She has indeed told him the truth. The anger that bubbled up in the duo’s heart’s slowly faded away into nothing. But Bill soon gained another feeling; uncertainty. “How can I be sure that you won’t lie to me?” He asked her in a whisper.
Wendy looked at the man before her who she thought to be entirely impossible to deal with and a little bit insane. She took a step closer to Bill and placed her slender but sea ridden hand on his cheek. “A promise of course…” She tilted her head up more and made contact with his lips.
Bill was confused by how close she was to him, let alone the soft hand on his tan cheek bone. But what truly got him was the kiss she so carefully placed on him. His eye was open for a few moments as he tried to register what was happening until he finally gave in and lightly kissed Wendy back. The young captain let his head rest against her small hand as the candle’s flame finally died away, sending the two pirates into darkness.
So, lunasaturngirl randomly mentioned pirates while I was finishing the first TPW page and I was like “Yeah...Pirate Bill Cipher.” and it snowballed from this picture into a fanfic I’m working on at this moment where Bill kidnapped Dipper to get back at Ford and he’s acting like a nice guy most of the time, but Dipper has been informed that if he’s not rescued within fourteen days then he’d be given a “Fate worth than death”. Though, bringing up the time-limit at all seems to piss off Bill, so he does get a glimpse of his cruel nature. Gideon and Dipper are both in their teens, but Dipper is a li’l shortie. Gideon is with Bill because he was taken in from the streets after Ford and Stan sent his father to the gallows as a swindler. (Both Stans are in the Imperial Navy. Mabel is with them, she was training to be a naval officer when Dipper was kidnapped.) Gideon isn’t too fond of Dipper, since he’s so sheltered from the world and is “weak-minded”. Gideon’s usual hairstyle is too rich for this AU, so he’s got a ponytail instead. :p And Bill is supposedly human, but as for the rest of his crew...?
