Prompt
Swimming?, beach
Character: Crocodile. (ft one pumpkin)
This particular stop hadn’t been planned but the weather was riviling the harsh sun of Alabasta and a small tropical looking island had cropped up on the horizon so after listening to the constant pleas of the crew, Crocodile gave the order to dock. The crew cheered loudly and set about readying things for their day off.
“I’ll go tell Hana-chan,” Bon grinned and hurried off into the boat.

Once they were docked, everyone pilled off the ship eager to get set up to relax. Crocodile had been nagged by Bentham to change into something cooler, apparently looking at him in his heavy suits made everyone hot. Dark linen trousers and a simple white shirt seemed to appease Bentham. Bones had set up an area for him far enough from the water but apt enough to get a gentle breeze. A comfy deck chair, parasol, table for his drink and ash tray.
This isn’t terrible.
He thought getting comfortable in the chair, it wasn’t his lavish office chair but it suffice.
Rapunzel brought out a cooler for his drink, setting it next to him “Let me know if you need anything boss.” he said, “this is great though, what an island.” Before Crocodile could reply he heard a panicked cry come from the ship.
“Chompy come back!” appearing on the plank was Hana chasing a small bananawani who was marching happily toward the beach “be careful! Don’t fall!” she managed to catch up the reptile and scooped it carrying it the rest of the way. She stayed a little closer to the water and set the reptile down before rolling out a towel and taking her shoes and socks off. It had become apparent she had no love of swimsuits or the sun. A bright orange vest with a black baggy crop top that hung off one shoulder and black and white striped cropped leggings made her summer outfit complete.
Crocodile wasn’t a fan but it suited her nonetheless and otherwise she might not venture out of her room otherwise.
Heading out into the ocean she turned to the gator and beckoned it towards her “Come on, you get to play in the big ocean.” The bananawani seemed less thrilled about following her forth having only played in a small pool the twins had built for it. Bon Kurei stepped in to carefully pick the gator up from behind, who did not appreciate that sentiment and wiggled and squirmed in Bon’s hands until he was set down in the shallow water.
“See not that bad is it?” she grinned, splashing the gator. As if something clicked in its mind, Chomp started splashing about like a child in puddles on a rainy day.
Crocodile watched them from afar, splashing around in the ocean.
“I’m surprised you let it stay-” Rapunzel said, though the glare Crocodile gave him silenced him very quickly. Rapunzel backed off suddenly. Crocodile glanced up from his drink as he spotted the bananawani marching in his direction. Chomp clambered onto the cool box and then onto Crocodile laying on his lap letting the water soak into his trousers.
None of the crew had even attempted to stop the small crocodile; a lot of the crew were still weary of the small gator and its sharp teeth. It was noted that the only person it really liked was Hana. Crocodile at a push and Bon Kurei just marginally after.
“I’m sorry Croco-chan! I’ll come get him!” he heard Hana call. Not that he would ever admit it but Crocodile was feeling a little jealous of the small bananawani that seemed to monopolize so much of her time. Scooping the gator with his good hand, Crocodile swung his legs off the deck chair and headed over to Hana and Bon. “I’m sorry, I took my eyes off him for a second.”
Crocodile moved to set the reptile back into the ocean when it dove straight out of his hand and splashed into the water kicking up plenty of water with its long tail straight into Crocodile’s face, soaking his white shirt.
He frowned and looked down at the reptile who was still splashing his legs with water. Crocodile heard Hana chuckle. “Is something funny?” was an ill-timed question as two crew members appeared behind him throwing two buckets over water over him, soaking him further and catching Hana too. Crocodile tensed a moment from the sudden shock of the water. He would have been angier if it weren’t for the fact that Hana was crimson and trying not to look at him. Realising his white shirt was sticking to him, which felt horrible but it seemed to have an interesting affect. Crocodile moved to pick Hana up under his arm.
She can stand to pay me some attention for a while.
“Croco-chan?” he carried her toward his deck chair, stopping when he felt something hit his shin glancing down to see the bananawani: refusing to call it by name, headbutting his leg. “Aw he’s trying to save me.” she chuckled smiling at the reptile.
“He will learn who is in charge here.” Crocodile said sternly, nudging it out the way with his foot.
“Don’t do that.” Hana scolded, squirming out of his arm to scoop up the gator “He was just helping.” nuzzling the bananawani happily “come on Captain Chomp, let's take a break with Croco-chan.” she grinned, leaning against Crocodile looking up at him with a soft smile.
Who is in charge here?
Though he couldn’t complain too much. She laid beside him in the crook of his arm, taking a little nap from all her fun in the sun. Captain Chomp curled by his feet, waking up to growl at anyone that got too close. He cracked a small grin at the sight. At least she’ll be safe with this little monster around.
