HANNAH RAY X GK
You might've seen Hannah Ray work with our friends at T.U.K. Footwear, or from her blog. She stopped by our office last week for a quick photoshoot, and we had the chance to sit down with her and talk about blogging, trends, and her style.
How did you get into blogging? When I turned sixteen, I tried to start modeling, and I was too short. I couldn't get into any agencies, so I started to do my own thing with photographers. I always wanted to do more lifestyle stuff, so I would talk to brands about wearing their stuff. So just networking and doing my own thing, and it turned into brands contacting me. I love getting to wear and style clothes from my favorite brands! How is blogging different than traditional modeling? With modeling, you get signed to an agency and sent out to do stuff. With blogging, you have more creative freedom and can seek out and get to bring in your own touch/style and make it your own thing.
What's your favorite trend? I would say muscle tees, crop tops. I will buy a guy's shirt and cut it how I want it. I never used to like anything high waisted, but now I'm more okay with it. I like seeing what comes and goes, and sometimes it funny to look back on what we use to wear. You're a photographer too, how did you get into that? I always wanted to be a bigger part of creating the way photos looked, and I couldn't do that if I was just the subject. I used to mess around with a self timer and editing, and would always borrow my friends camera until I had my own. It's just something that I've wanted to do and now I love it. Do you see yourself going more into photography, or are you going to stick to blogging? I would love to expand and grow as much as I can in photography, see where it takes me. I will always blog and play in front of the camera though as well. What advice would you give to someone who's looking to be a blogger? Don't do what everyone else is doing just because they're doing it. Be you, be creative, if there's a certain way you like to dress, pieces you want to put together, do that. Focus on your style, and what you have to offer.
