I Wish I Could Rent Another Body

In little more than two weeks, I will be eye-to-eye with Karl Urban. I'm excited beyond reckoning, but I'm also nervous that I'll make a complete tit of myself. What if my mouth seizes up or my limbs get all helplessly spastic and I accidentally kick him? What if what I try to tell him comes out in an unintelligible garble? What if I suddenly have to pee?

People have reassured me that Karl is a total sweetheart and won't care about my gimpiness and will likely be exceedingly patient, but I still worry about embarrassing us both or pissing off the con herders with my fumbling slowness, and as much as I want to squee, I also want to not be me for about three days. It would make things so much easier.

Tonight, my inner fangirl, in a blind, Captain Kiwi-induced rage, bludgeoned my common sense to death. I'm going to see Karl Urban at Fandomfest. I have the tickets in my possession. Yes, he might cancel, and if he does, I will weep like a toddler who's witnessed Elmo's murder, but it's a chance I'm willing to take. If he cancels, I'll just find other things to do and enjoy a good friend's company. After I die inside.
