I just finished your new fic and omg poor baby Cass! 🥺 I wanted to hug her so bad
I definitely wanted to as well.
I think Captain and Arianna did too!
Arianna definitely had to fight all her mothering instincts to not embrace the sad blanket heap! (why does sad blanket heap sound like a nickname Eugene would use for her?)
But I wanted to make sure Cap was very respectful of her boundaries as Cassandra is shown not liking hugs later on in the show. For a lot of people, hugs are comforting, but for others they add an extra layer of sensation, of overwhelming and unease.
And with everything Cassandra is going through, it wouldn't be good to overwhelm her anymore!
Captain not only respecting this boundary but going so far as to make sure Queen Arianna respect the boundary, was super important in my mind!
I think it'd help Cassandra learn to be upfront about her boundaries in her adult life.
After all, she tells a princess her boundary despite the power imbalance.
Plus, if you let people come to you on their own terms, they'll get there eventually!
Now I want to write more Cass and Cap xD
