no, I totally feel you. the aesthetics of the south, especially antebellum south, and the manners and the traditions are all so interesting and beautiful to me. but if I start thinking about it too long I start to feel icky.

99% of my family lives in arkansas, and it's just so jarring to hear them talk because give me twenty minutes and i slip into the accent, they sound like me and talk like me and then they say the most horrible things

and mooooost of this is me having an internal religious struggle because for so long they've really just pushed me away from anything religious, and as i'm growing up i'm getting more and more drawn to it

(part of my problem is i'm watching justified right now, which was. probably. not the best plan.)
