starmora + 9 and maybe 6 (because I am a sucker for a good angst fest for my greatest otps whom i will devote my soul for and starmora has shot up to top five)
9. Things you said when I was crying + 6. Things you said under the stars and in the grass
Also for @scarlet-widow, who asked for 6, and @atomeckova, who asked for 9

“Is everything okay, Peter?”
He must have heard her approaching, because he didn’t takehis eyes off the sky when he responded, “Yeah. Everything’s fine.” His voicesounded rough.
“Why aren’t you on the ship, then?” They’d had a rare breakbetween jobs and decided to dock on a forest planet for the night, but as faras Gamora knew there had been no plans to sleep outside.
“Just watching the stars.” He tilted his head back to lookat her. “Come join me.”
She only hesitated for a moment before walking over andsitting on the grass next to him.
“It doesn’t count if you don’t lay down,” Peter informedher.
“You have specific guidelines for this?” Gamora asked, butshe laid down close enough for their arms to touch.
“Basic stargazing etiquette.” He slid his arm over hers tograb her hand, something that had become an instinctual motion for them lately.
He spoke again after a few minutes. “My mother and I used to layin the grass and listen to music when I was a kid.”
She was unsurprised to hear tears in his voice, but she hadno real idea how to comfort him. So she squeezed his hand and hoped just beingthere would help.
“I wish she could have met you,” he told her.
“I wish I could have met her, too.”
“She’d have loved you… and notjust because you’re an alien.”
She chuckled. “Good to know.”
There was a rustling behind them, and Gamora titled her headto see the rest of their team coming towards them.
“Are we intruding?” Mantis asked uncertainly.
“Yeah, you’re not gonna start making out or something areyou?” Rocket asked.
Peter was still looking up at thestars, but he was grinning, so Gamora took it as a yes.
“No,” she said. “Join us. I’ve been informed you must laydown, though.”
“The grass is itchy,” Drax complained, but he and the otherslaid down around them – except Groot, who jumped off of Rocket’s shoulder tolay on Peter’s chest.
She glanced at Peter and saw a single tear make its way down his smiling face.
“Peter,” she whispered, nudging his shoulder. He turned hishead to look at her, their faces an inch apart. “She would have been proud ofyou.”
“Thanks,” he whispered back. She used her free hand to cuphis face, wiping away a new tear and pulling him towards her for a quick kiss.
Not quick enough, apparently.
“Hey!” Rocket protested. “You said you weren’t gonna makeout.”
They broke apart and Peter let out a watery laugh. “Alright, alright.”
