This is the fic I wrote back in November but decided to publish it for Christmas but then Captain Powell Week was announced because TS ended (and I’m not over it and won’t be over it for a looooooong time) and I decided it was a perfect time to post it. Hopefully you like it! This is a sort of follow-up to my one shot First Word but it’s not crucial to read that one first. And as always, feedback is much appreciated! ♥
“I really don’t want to go,” Amy sighs when Chris puts a scarf around her neck. He gently kisses her forehead and smiles encouragingly. “You can do it Amy, it’s not the first meet and greet you’ve had.”
She quickly turns to face him, eyes narrowed. “I’m not worried about me!” she exclaims, “I’m worried about leaving you alone with Noah.”
“Amy...That was the only one time I really screwed up, okay? But he’s not using the word anymore.”
“Well, he’d better,” she murmurs and Chris chuckles.
“Come on babe, I can take care of our son. We’ll have a lot of fun together.”
Amy rolls her eyes but Chris notices a tiny smile. “I mean it, we’ll have some quality father-son bonding time.”
He kisses her softly and Amy relxes slighlty. “I know you’ll be fine. You’re the best father Noah could get. I love you. I’ll be back late in the evening, please don’t burn the house,” she says as their son runs up to her and hugs her.
“Daddy promised we would decorate Christmas tree!” he grins and Amy looks at Chris. “Please be safe. Don’t make Noah--”
“Amy, I’ve got this. You go now or you’ll be late,” Chris interrupts her and she realizes it’s already late and she should have left about twenty minutes earlier. “Okay then, I love you! See you soon!” she waves her hand at her boys and before she closes the door behind her, she hears Noah yelling “Bye Mommy!”
The second Amy drives off, Noah starts jumping around his father, excitedly clapping his hands. “Can we go to Target for some ornaments Daddy?” he asks and Chris only shakes his head. “No buddy, we already have everything we need.”
“But Daddy,” Noah pouts, “they are old!”
“No, they’re not! Your mom and I got them when we bought out first house,” he explains and opens the box with all the necessary decorations. Each piece brings him many memories, maybe Noah would listen to the--
“They’re old! Like you!” Noah yells, which makes Chris narrow his eyes. This is going to be a long day.
~~~~
Few hours of decorationg and a couple of arguments later, the tree was finally decorated. Chris goes to the kitchen to make something to eat for both of them. His preparations are suddenly interrupted by a glass-shattering sound coming from the living room. He quickly runs to the room and finds his son looking helplessly at a few Christmas balls, now broken, laying on the floor.
“What happened here?!” Chris asked, dragging Noah from the pieces of the ornaments.
“I told you they were old. They fell,” he answers, shrugging slightly.
Chris turns to his five-year old son and eyes his suspiciously. “They fell...by themeselves?”
“Old things break easily Daddy. Now we need to go to Target to buy new ones.”
“We really don’t need to buy anything, Buddy. Besides, it doesn’t look that bad! This tree was overloaded anyway.”
Noah narrows his eyes, clearly offended, or maybe just mad that his plan has failed. “You’re no fun Daddy! Can we at least build a snowman?”
Chris looks at his son and sighs as he runs his hand through his hair. “Noah...you’ve been sick for over a week and you still look too weak. I don’t think it’s a good idea to--”
“WHY DO YOU ALWAYS RUIN EVERYTHING!!! I want Mommy to come back, you’re awful!” Noah sticks out a tongue and runs away to his room. Chris stands still with the pieces of ornaments in his hands, shocked at his son’s outburst. He knew that his temper Noah took after Amy but it was enough. Sick or not, Noah can’t behave like this!
Having cleaned the mess his son made, Chris makes his way to Noah’s room. He finds his rebellious 5-year old playing on his phone, not even bothering to look at his father.
“Noah! What was that? You can’t talk to me like this! I’m doing what’s best for you and you just...Noah!” he slams his fist on the desk realizing his son is not listening, too invested in whatever he’s doing on the phone.
“What? I’m busy!”
“Give me that,” Chris takes the phone from Noah’s hands and shoves it into his pocket. “What’s gotten into you?”
“YOU! You are the Christmas Grinch, I can’t do anything fun with you anymore!”
“Excuse you! I am so much fun!” Chris pretends to be hurt but in fact, he is actually a little bit hurt.
Noah looks at his father and shakes his head before answering. “You won’t let me go out and do anything cool! I have more fun with Mommy!” he pouted.
Yeah, go ahead Noah, twist the knife even more!
“Maybe if you were nicer to your own father, you’d appreciate him more,” Chris starts carefully trying to calm down.
“Maybe Mommy should’ve married Santa because Santa is always nice to me!” Noah exclaims motioning a picture of him sitting on Santa’s, that is Zig in costume, lap, from year ago. They have an agreement that each year one of them dresses up as a Santa and vists homes of the others to entertain the kids. Last year it was Zig’s turn, this year it is James who is actually supposed to come the next day.
Chris counts to ten before opening a mouth but Noah is faster.
“Santa is so cool, he looks a bit like uncle Zig but maybe he’d be Mommy’s type. Don’t get me wrong Daddy, I love you but Santa is cooler. And definitely would let me play outside. And would give me presents every single day! And--”
“And he doesn’t exist Noah, please calm down. Mommy’s mine.” He says firmly only realizing his mistake a second his son’s eyes fill with tears. Shit.
“Noah, it’s not like this, I said it because I was angry, it’s not true, I swear, I--”
“SANTA ISN’T REAL, SANTA ISN’T REAL!!!” Noah cries running out of the room, and downstairs, and then around the house. “Christmas is ruined!!!”
“Noah! Please, I’m sorry! He is real, you’ve met him!!” Chris tries to comfort the kid but it’s pointless.
“That’s why he always looked like one of my uncles! It was all a lie!!! Aaaaaaaaah!” Noah yells and in this moment the door opens and Amy comes inside.
Her eyes widen at her son running around, yelling and crying, and her husband trying to catch their five-year old.
“What is happening here?” she asks and both men freeze.
“Mommy! Daddy said Santa wasn’t real!” Noah runs to his mother and clinges to her legs. Amy throws a cold look at Chris before crouching and pulling the kid into a hug.
“Tell you what, Mommy will make you hot chocolate and you’ll tell me everything that Daddy said, okay?” she offers and Noah nods. Amy kisses his forehead and heads to the kitchen, throwing her coat at Chris. When she’s done and goes to Noah’s room, Chris scratches his head nervously, not being sure what Amy is going to do with him.
Finally, she emerges from their son’s room and wordlessly sits down on a couch next to Chris. They both sit in silence, and Chris worries about what she may say. After a moment, she breaks the silence but still doesn’t look at her husband.
“So...I think I’ll never leave you two together again.”
“Amy..” Chris starts, sorrow in his voice, “I swear I didn’t mean to! I’m so sorry, I know I screw up. Please don’t stop loving me.”
“I really hope you’ll be more careful with this little one,” she says, still not looking at him but placing her hand on her belly.
“I know I—what?” he turns to her suddenly realizing what she just said. “Are you--?”
Amy smiles widely before finally turning to her husband and nodding. “I was planning to tell you on Christmas day but I figured you needed some cheering up after today.”
“Amy...that’s...I’m..” Chris pulls his wife into a hug. They’re having another baby! Addition to their growing family.
“But I swear Christopher, if you screw up again, I’m--”
“I won’t, I promise! I’ve learned my lesson. I’m so happy, Amy, so, so happy! I love you so much,” he says and kisses her passionately. When they part, Amy looks at him lovingly and snuggles against his chest.
“I love you too, Chris.”
“And you,” Chris says to the belly, happy tears in his eyes, “I can’t wait to meet you and I promise I’ll be a better father and never tell you the Santa is not real--”
“Christopher!” Amy says, hands protectively on her flat stomach, “The baby isn’t even born yet!”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I’m just too excited! I promise I’ll be the best father our kids could have!”
Amy chuckles as she kisses her husband’s cheek, “I know you will, you already are. Just remember to be careful around them, okay?”
“I will, I swear,” Chris burries his face in Amy’s hair, embarrassed but also happy.
Amy shakes her head amused. Life never gets boring with Chris and she can’t wait for this little one to arrive and to see what life has planned for them next.
Flushed
It was the warmest day of the year so far and the entire Hartfeld campus was alive with activity, arguably the most it had seen in months. Chris and MC were not immune to the power the change in weather clearly held over everyone, both beyond tired of being stuck inside for so many days thanks to the cold northern weather. Sure, they have been having their share of fun, often entertaining one another under warm covers and behind locked doors, but after a while a everyone needs to breathe fresh air.
Today was that day, the newfound warmth pulling people out into the common spaces throughout campus grounds, creating heavily populated waves of like minded people everywhere they looked. Chris was especially enjoying the effects of the weather change, often glancing over at MC’s bare shoulders provided by one of his favorite sporty tank tops.Of course he had seen every inch of her body over the winter months, but there was something about her glowing skin in the bright sunlight that keeps drawing him back in.
“What?” Her question interrupts his thoughts, causing his eyes to flick up and find hers locked on his with a curious expression.
He shrugs, turning his gaze forward as he forces his increasingly dirty thoughts to evaporate. “N-nothing.”
MC’s eyes narrow and she stops walking, causing him to halt his forward movements as well seeing how his arm was hooked around her waist. “Uh huh… spill Powell.”
Chris shakes his head and starts moving again, tugging her until she falls in step next to him as they make their way to the campus cafe. “I’m just glad to be outside… in the sun… again.”
She doesn’t say anything and he shifts his gaze from the path back to her face, finding that smirk he loves so much across her features before she speaks. “And…”
He sniffs dismissively as they take the next right, now within a block of the popular cafe. “And… nothing.”
“Don’t make me poke you.” She says with a humorous tone.
Chris shakes his head and closes his eyes with a sigh, knowing he only has seconds before she follows through and goes right for the one spot that will make him cringe. “Okay. I like being outside.”
“Uh huh.” He can still hear the smirk in her tone.
“In the… warm weather.”
“Uh huuuuh.” A small smile appears on his lips as he can tell her smirk is clearly still in place.
“With you.” He says in a lower voice, glancing around to see if their conversation might be overheard.
“Okay…” She arches a brow as he turns to look at her, their united pace slowing together.
His eyes slip down from hers, first to her neck, then her shoulders, before gliding across her upper chest. He takes his time to admire the perfect amount of cleavage peeking out of the snug tank top as his right hand slides up from her lower back to splay across her bare shoulder blades. Her muscles flex under his touch as they continue to walk slowly, making him hum as he feels her sun warmed skin.
He turns his face slightly towards hers as he leans over, knowing she wasn’t yet satisfied with his answer and brushes his lips against her ear. “Because all I want to do… is see every inch of you…”
MC swallows hard as he continues, “…bare…”
She glances around, hoping no one can hear their suddenly very private conversation. “…fully exposed. In this light.”
“Umm…”
He cuts her off before she can formulate an actual response. “Because all I can think about is putting my lips on every square inch of your flushed skin.”
Chris smirks when he sees the effect his words are having on her. “It’s like you’re my own brand of MC muffins… warm and ready for me to devour you.”
MC can feel herself reacting to his words, her body beginning to tingle as she imagines it becoming true. She licks her lips and takes a deep breath, trying to come up with some type of verbal response, but her mind is completely foggy. So much so, that she doesn’t notice when Chris shifts, lowering his head more to drag his lips down her neck until she shudders from the ticklish feeling. Her body snaps, now more alert and focused than before. It’s when he pulls his lips back, baring his perfectly straight teeth and bites the sensitive spot where her long neck meets the left shoulder that she jumps with a gasp.
He chuckles and does it again. “Someone was deep in thought.”
She squirms, doing her best to get away from his persistent assault on one of her most ticklish spots. “Chris!”
He laughs harder, tightening his grip on her, circling her with both hands so she can’t escape him as he continues to playfully nip at the areas around her shoulder, neck and ear.
“Ayuh, beautiful?” His warm words slides across her skin and she sucks in a sharp breath through clenched teeth.
MC gives up trying to form words, crushing her eyes closed as she does her best to not outright scream when he adds his fingers to the attack, moving them nimbly up and down her sides as his lips find an even more sensitive spot near her throat.
What should be words yelling for him to stop, are now peals of laughter that only break for a moment when she gasps for air. Chris can tell she’s trying to break free but he doesn’t give in, increasing the energy behind his surprise attack instead. MC focuses for a second and actually manages to open her eyes, but not much.
Glancing around through narrow slits, she finds many pairs of eyes unexpectedly watching the two of them as Chris holds her hostage. She continues to struggle to no avail. Her face begins to heat up as a few faculty members look at them both with concern, but only for a moment before they join the clumps of grinning students, laughing with amusement once they realize what’s happening.
Embarrassment begins to fully take over now, her face flushing even more as she somehow manages to squeal even louder when all she wants to do is hide. “Chriiiissss…. stoooop!”
She swats at his massive shoulder, earning a chuckle from her wide bodied boyfriend as he finally pulls his lips from her ambushed skin. MC pants as she tries to catch her breath from the non stop laughing Chris managed to drag from her lips in between the shrieks and gasps. When their eyes meet once more she sees the mischievous glint in his bright blues, but only for a second before he also looks around, finally noticing the audience he created.
MC shakes her head before hiding her face in the crook of his neck as he grins bashfully, clutching her to his chest with one arm as he holds the other up and waves apologetically for disturbing the peace. “Hey… uh, sorry. My fault. As you were.”
Finally catching her breath, MC does her best to seem angry, biting him on the collarbone so he can feel her disapproval.
Chris lets out a startled noise before tilting his head enough to brush his lips over her ear again and speak quietly, this time clearly just for her. “Just. You. Wait.”
Senior year has finally arrived. The final year of Aria’s college years. The year that truly decides if she makes it in the world or not. Basically decides her future for her and guides in her into the light or into the dark. In the right direction or the wrong direction. Going on the correct path is all Aria really wants and she desires a future of success and spending it with the man she loves more than anything in this world.
Aria has missed Chris since she’s been away from him all summer, participating in an internship which ended up being a waste of time considering she was never even offered a job at the end. Her mom tried to convince her that it may benefit her in the future when it comes to applying for jobs but Aria can’t help but refuse to believe that. What if no opportunities come her way and she doesn’t manage to find success in order to make her dreams a reality? What if no offers pass by her and she’s left to fend for herself in the real world? Alone and lost.
That has to be one of Aria’s worst fears. Feeling like one day all of her hard work isn’t going to pay off and she’ll just be left to the wolves, falling to the bottom of the job line. Of course, she has more amazing support than any average person could wish for. Support from all her wonderful friends. Kaitlyn, James, Zig, Becca, Zack, Abbie. And of course, the most support comes from her boyfriend, Chris - who she appreciates and definitely doesn’t deserve. He’s amazing and so supportive of everything she does, just like she is with him.
From day one, Chris has been there for her and Aria sure as hell isn’t about to lose what they have for anything or for anyone. What they have is special and Aria plans to cherish it until the end because deep down, she knows she’s never gonna find anyone else like Chris. Never.
She’d reunited with him a few minutes after her parents dropped her off. It was a bit awkward to watch Chris meet her dad for the first time but the nerves were also covered up by the relieving feeling of seeing her boyfriend again. What was a bit awkward was hearing Aria’s dad mention marriage to Chris and seeing how calm he tried to be when he heard Stephen say that. In the end, Chris just accepted the blessing and shook her father’s hand.
Aria is thankful that her dad didn’t push the topic and left straight after. That gave Chris and Aria time to catch up. Aria spent a few hours out with a meeting with her advisor and then she decided to head out to get some groceries since they were lacking in the food department. Her mind was flooded with questions as she was skimming over the shopping list, trying to process and digest all of her duties for senior year. What she has to do. What she has to achieve. How much time she has to put into hard work in order to certainly grasp her future with confidence.
It’s all se really wants.
After rushing to the supermarket, Aria heads home, realising she’d spent most of the day and that she’d kinda left Chris on his own most of the day, which she of course felt bad about since it was their first day having seeing each other again. At a quicker pace, she hurries home, sighing with relief when she reaches their front door of their apartment. Struggling to keep her grasp on the shopping bags, Aria yanks her keys from her pocket and unlocks the door, pacing in after it idly swings open.
Once she enters, she scans her surroundings, searching for any sign of her boyfriend but he doesn’t seem to be around, at least not in the living room anyway.
“Chris! Baby, I got some pizza.” Aria calls out to Chris, as she strolls into the kitchen, placing her heavy shopping bags on the counter and reaching into them, grabbing the food and placing it where it belongs.
Suddenly, Aria hears light footsteps creaking against the wood of the floor. She tilts her head and finds Chris emerging from their bedroom, his back hunched slightly and his eyes watering with exhaustion. He’s shirtless and Aria’s dark eyes drift hungrily over his messy exterior briefly before she realised how tired he is. She must have woken him from a sleep.
Chris yawns, as he runs a hand through his faded brown hair and walks up to his girlfriend, leaning against the kitchen counter with a weak smirk on his face. “You had me at pizza.” He jokes, chuckling with more of a sigh and rubbing the exhaustion out of his eyes.
Aria places a comforting hand on his arm, smiling sweetly at him. “I’m sorry. Did I wake you?” She asks, raising an eyebrow at her boyfriend.
“It’s fine. I needed to wake up anyway. Arjun wants me to start working on some ideas for the council.” Chris responds, starting the kettle and watching it carefully as it boils loudly for a moment.
Aria frowns at that, noticing the hint of stress in his eyes. Almost like a cry for help. “Already? But I thought you were focusing on football this quarter.” Aria says as she throws a piece of bread in the toaster and switches it on.
“I thought so too. Guess I’m gonna be doing both.” Chris sighs with regret and skims over his gorgeous girlfriend for a moment, taking her in and realising just how much he’s missed her.
“Can’t you tell Arjun that you wanna focus on football? I don’t want you being this stressed.” Aria points out, wrapping her arms around Chris’s waist and snuggling against his bare chest. He places an arm around her in return, planting a soft kiss on the top of her head, where her dark hair lies.
“It’ll be fine. I just don’t wanna disappoint anyone again.” Chris suddenly blurts out and he immediately regrets it when he sees Aria’s head snap up and she eyes him meaningfully for a minute. Chris tries to avoid eye contact but she always seem to draw him back in no matter how hard he tries. “Don’t look at me like that, beautiful. I don’t want you worrying about me this year. I want you to focus on yourself.” Chris adds, grasping both her shoulders and pulling her in for a long tender kiss. He lets it linger and plants a few extra kisses on her jaw before knocking their foreheads together.
“But Chris, you know I care-“
“I know.” Chris cuts her off and cups her cheeks. “Trust me, I know. But you deserve to think about your future and let me support you this year. I’m sure I can support you a lot when you’re a hit writer for that magazine.” Chris trails off when he squints and notices a look of hurt and guilt fighting in Aria’s features. He scans her closely, watching her face fall as she frowns. “Hey... what’s wrong, baby?”
Aria hesitates for a moment but just one look in his eyes is enough to affect her like a drug. She can’t keep one damn secret from him. “It’s just... I didn’t get the job in San Francisco. I didn’t even get offered anything.” Aria admits, her voice strained from the disappointment battling in her throat, planting a rock there. Chris’s forehead creases with concern and he tightens his grasp on his girlfriend, pulling her as close as possible and not letting her cry without his comfort. Aria closes her eyes and lets out a heavy sigh, refusing to shed a single tear. “I’m not sad, okay? I’m just disappointed. I really thought I had a shot, you know. They praised me and they made me feel welcome. I really had... some hope for a... new beginning. For me. For us.”
Chris rests his palms on her shaking arms, rubbing calmly and planting a soft, reassuring kiss on her lips. She’s been working so hard these past few months. Too damn hard. After that whole thing with Nathan and those other Alpha Theta Mu maniacs, Aria has been trying to be more lenient with herself and how hard she works. Maybe she slacked off a little too much that’s why she never got the job. Maybe she got too distracted by everything around her and she just couldn’t stand to be in that stressful position again. However, Chris now fears that she may force herself back in that place. That place that isolates her from the people she loves. That place that drags her confidence down. That place that stops her from eating and sleeping or even paying attention to another person. Chris really doesn’t want her going back there. Back to where she constantly overworked herself. That was torture to watch her destroy all her efforts and hard work.
Chris and Aria stay in the comforting embrace for a moment, just trying their best to reassure each other. Comfort each other and promise that stress and worry isn’t going to take over their lives or affect their relationship. They’d never risk anything affecting their love for one another. It’s close to impossible.
“...I just don’t want you going back to that place, babe.” Chris admits and releases a heavy sigh, feeling like a heavy load had been lifted from his shoulder but a certain weight still remained. “That place that hurt you. Nothing is supposed to hurt you.”
Aria giggles softly at that, kissing Chris softly on the lips. “I don’t wanna go back to that place but I can’t help but feel like I didn’t get offered a job because I wasn’t in that place.” Aria relents sheepishly, her dark eyes falling to stare at the floor but Chris tilts her chin up to meet his eyes.
“Hey. There’s no way that’s what it is. They just don’t understand how smart, generous and hard-working you are. They don’t get how much of your life and time you’d put into writing them trending articles that would make the front page every single time.” Chris assures, taking both Aria’s hands and squeezing them lovingly. “They may not love and support you. But I do... and I always will.” Chris adds, kissing each of her knuckles and planting a lingering kiss on her lips and tangling his fingers in her dark brown hair.
“Well then, who needs a crap job like that when I have someone like you by my side?” Aria replies, more confidence in her tone then before and a proud smile plays at her lips as she snuggles into Chris, taking in the warmth of this usual body heat. “Thank you, Chris. I don’t need no job or huge city to keep me going. Because you’re the only home I’m ever gonna need.” Aria reveals, smiling broadly and kissing Chris’ cheek and he catches her hand before she can cup his face and he sweeps her off her feet.
He smirks teasingly. “That’s my job as your live in boyfriend.” Chris jokes as he guides Aria’s legs around his waist and crashes their lips together, pinning her against the wall, which causes her to moan softly from the impact of the plastery wallpaper. “And that is also my job.”
“To make me moan?”
Chris smirks at that, rolling his ocean eyes slightly at her comment. “More to make you realise just how much I fucking missed you.”
With that said, Chris guides Aria blindly into the bedroom, immediately slamming the door shut with his foot. He’s about to prove that he means what he says and that he promises to make her feel things she’s never felt before. Missing her was almost unbearable to take every day and it’s even worse to see her through a screen without being able to touch her or kiss her on the lips like he wants to do every damn day. Her going away to San Francisco wasn’t meant to be so difficult to take. Hell, she promised she’d be back a lot sooner than she actually came and then she ended up staying with her parents for a week since she was recovering from the rejection from the magazine.
Anyway, none of that mattered anymore cause now he has her in his arms and he plans to make love to her better than he ever has before. Chris wants to affect her in a way he hasn’t before. He wants to show her just how much he’s bottling up and how much tension is tangled in his muscles, dragging him down every time he’s away from her. Damn, Aria really has Christoper hooked and he just can’t seem to shake her from his heart. Not that he wants to or anything like that. He’s in it for forever.
Her still in his arms, Chris rests his hands at her waist in order to steady her before pinning her against the bedroom door, much rougher than he intended but he can’t shake the desire and hunger that’s causing his heart to pound a million times faster in his head and the way her beauty causes a million thoughts to circle his mind. Memories of her. Mental images of her. Nothing could ever keep her off his mind.
Their lips never disconnect, as Chris rolls one hand up and down her side while using the other to help her maintain her balance, as she wraps her legs around her waist, pressing their bodies closer than ever before, which earns a rare groan from Chris. They stagger against the wall, kissing like their lives depends on it which their needs do but they’ve never as aggressive as they are being right now. Sure, they have their fun and kinky sides but this is the first time they’ve been as... blunt as they are with each other right now.
Chris suddenly carries Aria off the wall and carefully guides her over to the bed, watching how she quickly removes her jacket before being gently placed on the silk sheets by Chris. He swears she looks even more beautiful than the last time he saw her. It was so long ago and he remembers her so much differently than he sees her right now. Her dark hair is fanned out on the bed, creating some sort of halo over her. Her chocolate eyes burn into Chris’ ocean ones as he leans slowly closer, enraptured in her beauty.
“What are you staring at?” She asks in a teasing tone, a mischievous smirk playing at her lips.
“Just you.” He whispers in a husky tone that matches her seductive one. Her hand drifts at an agonisingly slow pace up Chris’ bare chest, starting at his stomach before making her way up to his lips, pinching his nipples halfway through. This causes Chris to suck in a sharp breath. Her thumb tugs at his plump lower lip and he catches her hand before she let it fall back.
Chris starts leaving a trail of kisses from the inside of her wrist to the outside layer of her shoulder, which shakes from his spine-trembling touch. All her nerves activate in her body and she begins to melt hopelessly into his touch, even more than she usually would.
His lips drift up her neck, leaving a trail of fiery kisses in his wake, as he finally lands on her lips and catches Aria in a fury of passion. She yanks his neck and deepens the kiss, already tired from the teasing and it hadn’t even really begun yet. Chris felt too taken aback to pause her need and take control. She was way too damn convincing, even when she didn’t talk in that sweet melodic voice of hers. Her tongue slips passed the defences of his lips and she connects hers with his, letting it swirl in his mouth for a second.
Aria backs up against the headboard, smiling against Chris’ lips when she tries to hold back a giggle when she feels the cold material of the headboard against her back. It doesn’t take her too long to gather herself and stay focussed on the heat of the kiss.
Meanwhile, Chris starts to work at Aria’s clothes, his hands sneakily snaking behind her back and slipping under her shirt. Just for a minute, he caresses the bare skin and moves his lips to her neck, her heavy pants ringing in his ears in the best way possible. Eventually, he pulls her shirt over her head and tosses it aside. Chris leans back, taking in her unconditional beauty. Her dark hair dangles at her chest and her chestnut eyes are flooding with desire.
She wants him. Hell, she needs him.
Chris snaps out of his trance finally and goes back to work at Aria’s neck, leaving a cheeky love bite at the base and another on her collarbone. Hickeys that will definitely last for a few days but right now, Aria doesn’t dare think about that. All she wants to do is focus on the touch of Chris and the feeling of his body against hers. He’s impossible to resist and she can’t take anymore waiting.
She moves so her mouth is grazing his ear and prepares to whisper something. “Chris, you got about ten seconds but I finish this myself.” Aria warns and Chris’ eyes immediately snap up to stare at his desperate girlfriend.
“So you don’t like it when I take my time?” He questions in a teasing tone and she rolls her eyes at him.
“Five... four... three...”
“Okay, okay!” Chris interrupts and swiftly silences with her a kiss, pinning her down against the bed and climbing on top of her.
Hovering over her, he attaches his lips to her chest, teasingly outlining the fabric of her bra with his fingers. Aria arches her back and allows him access to be able to unclasp her bra which he does. Honestly, Chris struggles for a moment, having done that a few times. Aria has some real pain in the ass bras. It happens a lot more than it should do.
Before Aria can notice him struggling, Chris finally manages to remove her bra, instantly throwing himself down at her breasts and sucking more rough than usually on her nipples, causing her to gasp from the sweltering sensation.
“Chris!” Aria moans his name and notices how his hands start to drift down to her waist, preparing to unbutton her jeans and slide them slowly down her legs. He manages to remove that quicker than the bra and he’s quite proud of himself when he manages to do it.
His rough hands slide up her now-bare thighs causing her to shiver from his touch and that leads him to doing the same with her underwear, sliding them down her legs until it’s on the floor. While all this happens, his mouth never leaves her breast. Once she’s completely naked, Chris brings one hand up to where his head is and begins to palm at her other breast, only adding to the amount of pleasure running through her body like lighting strikes had hit her.
“Damnit, Chris.” She moans with pleasure, clinging on the bed sheets and tangling her fingers in Chris’s growing hair. Meanwhile, his free hand drifts down to her waist, teasingly lurking just above her clit and outlining it occasionally, which causes her to groan in frustration.
His mouth continues to work at her nipples, finding a new sensitive spot with the hand that’s massaging her breast and causing her nipples to harden from the self-satisfying touch. Sweat creases both of them and an undeniable sensation escalates in their hearts, driving them and giving them the fuel and the strength to continue.
Chris hand finally decides to be more lenient and his fingers impulsively start to thrash into her, exploring her interior curiously and with the obvious intention of making her feel thing she’d never felt before.
Aria’s eyes roll back from the feeling of Chris and plenty of moans and calling of Chris’ name escapes her. “Ah! Chris!” She shouts, as she tugs at parts of Chris’s hair.
He can’t help but shiver at that. “Oh, Aria!”
His fingers continue to pump through her and the pace increases as the speed of his pounding heart increases. Sex has never felt so meaningful and so animalistic as it is with Aria. Of course, they have their kinks but there’s always something tender and romantic lingering in the air and in their hearts when they make love and it only makes every time all the more special, no matter what they do to make it as hot as possible.
Eventually, Chris removes his fingers and mouth (and of course his leftover clothes) from Aria and positions himself over her instead, preparing for the main event, if you will. His lips barely graze hers, as his braces himself over her and he can sense the unsteady beating of her heart as anticipation runs through her and that’s what seems to fuel her, as she awaits for Chris to strike.
Slower than he usually would, Chris teases Aria with his length a few times and earning quite a few impatient groans from her, before finally lowering himself into her, letting out all the bottled up longing he’d been holding in since the second she left. Maybe even before she left. He’s been waiting for this moment for so damn long. To have finally had his need received and to be able to feel her again. Touch her again. Even seeing her again was a blessing that Chris was so desperate to experience.
A sudden moan escapes her, more like several moans as Chris continues to pump in and out of her constantly, giving her a hidden sense of relief as slick sweat soaks her body. She can’t help but give all of herself to Chris when they make love. It’s impossible for her to keep still and patient when he’s the one who is touching her. His touch is irresistible. Undeniable. Unstoppable and it makes her feel things she never thought she’d be able to feel. It helps her feel alive and that’s all she really wants to feel.
Forgetting about the stress and forgetting about all their doubts, worries, regrets and unanswered questions. All they can focus on is each other. They continue to entwine in each other and melt together as one until finally... they both give in.
Later, they lay entwined in the covers of the silk sheets of their bed, making the most of the simple moments until their senior year officially is set to start to the next day. They just want to stay wrapped up in each other’s arms forever. Why must the world give stress a reason to come out and infect people? Why not let hope and faith come out instead?
Aria is snuggling up to Chris, her head resting against her chest as she feels his breathing rise and fall at a heavy pace. “Fuck, baby. That was amazing.” Chris admits, planting a sloppy kiss in her now-greasy hair.
Aria can’t help but giggle at how speechless he is and she tilts her head so she’s looking into his eyes. “Thank you...”
“For what, Aria?”
“Just everything. You’re always there for me and you always seem to know what I want and how I want it. You love me and I love you and I know you’ll always be the one to catch me if I fall. You’re the only home I’m ever gonna need.”
Chris’ face reddens slightly at that and he softly brings their lips together for a brief moment. “I love you too. And I promise that senior year is gonna be a new beginning for us.”
Laura walks into the kitchen and sees Chris sitting at the table, drinking his morning coffee and reading the papers. She walks up to him and kisses him gently on the cheek, he smiles in return.
„Good morning, beautiful!“, he raises one hand and strokes her cheek.
„Good morning, handsome! Did you sleep well?“, she asks walking up to the coffee machine.
„I did…“, he stands up and embraces his wife from behind, placing a kiss on her neck „Do you know what day today is?“
Laura pauses and thinks for a second, „Oh no! Did I forget our anniversary again? Chris, I am so so sorry…“, she turns around, feeling terrible.
Chris chuckles: „Nope! Our anniversary isn’t until next week, love“. Laura sighs, relieved.
„Okay, so what day is today then?“, she puts her arms wound his neck and smiles.
Chris lowers his lips to hers, brushing them across hers, whispering: „Today is Laura day…“, he kisses her gently for a second, „You’ve been so stressed out trying to finish this book and I thought I’d take the day off and devote it just to you…“, he trails kisses across her neck and then nibbles gently on her earlobes.
„Oh, Chris, you are the best husband a woman could ask for… hmmm“, she closes her eyes and enjoys the sensation.
He lowers his hand to her bottom and run them under her thighs, lifting her up and she hooks her legs around his waist, „What about we kick it off by showering together?“, he asks flintily. She smiles and answers with a passionate kiss, as he tries to safely make his way upstairs with her in his arms.
Author's note: A fanfic to kickoff the Chris Powell Appreciation Week hosted by @regrettingnathan @maxattack-powell @lostinthe-pines @chrispowellappreciation
Chris walks across the campus cradling papers under his arm. Last quarter he had been elected student council president and he was determined to make a difference at the school. He had been working on this proposal for a while and he couldn’t wait to show it.
A voice calls out to him “Chris!” Chris smiles and turns around. He sees his girlfriend MC headed towards him. He met her when they crashed into each other on campus. From the moment he looked into her eyes he was instantly attracted to her. He immediately wraps his arms around her pulling her into his embrace.
“Hey beautiful what’s up?”
“We had plans today remember?”
“We did?” Chris scratches the back of his head trying to recall as MC raises an eyebrow. His eyes go wide “Oh that’s true we did I’m sorry MC I was doing some stuff for- “
“For the student council I know I know” MC sighs
“MC...”
“It’s fine Chris just forget about it”
Chris gives her a guilty look “I’m really sorry I just lost track of time. Let me make this up to you how about after the meeting today I take you out and we’ll go wherever you want”
MC looks up at him “Well…” She gives him a small smile “Ok”
Chris grins “Great see you tonight” He kisses her cheek and walks away
****
“Well that concludes our meeting see you next week” As Chris begins to pack up his stuff and leave Professor Atiyah pulls him aside
“Chris your proposal is well put together”
Chris smiles “Thanks”
“I know you will get the Dean’s approval you just gotta work hard on it to win him over”
Chris nods “I will”
“Good keep up the good work” Atiyah pats him on the back and walks away. Chris gathers his stuff and walks out with a big grin on his face Can’t wait this will really make a difference in school. Then he looks at his phone and his eyes go wide “Shit look at the time MC’s going to kill me!”
He races across the campus to the suite. As soon as he enters the suite he sees MC sitting on the couch. She crosses her arms and tilts her head to the side “Welcome back”
“MC I…”
“Is this what you call “making this up to me?”
“MC I’m sorry I just…”
She stands up “Just what? Just been busy? Too busy for your girlfriend?!”
“You know that’s not true! You know I love you MC.” He sighs “Let’s go get something to eat and we can- “
MC shook her head “No thanks”
“MC…”
She sighs “I think we should take a break Chris”
Chris takes a step back his eyes go wide as he reels her words. He feels as if someone had just stabbed him with a knife. “Are you breaking up with me?”
“No, I just need some space and time to think”
Tear well up in Chris’s eyes but he quickly blinks them away and lets out a deep breath “Ok if that’s what you want”
MC gives him a sad smile “See you later Chris” She walks to her room shutting the door softly. Chris walks over to the couch and sobs in his hands.
Over the next few days Chris worked on his proposal. But he couldn’t focus his mind was only on MC. He felt so guilty about how he treated MC. He wanted to wrap her up in his arms and hold her never letting her go.
As he gathered up his things to head for another meeting he ran into MC
“Oh hey”
“Hey Chris, how have you been?”
“Good just heading out for a meeting”
She gives him a small smile “Well good luck I’m rooting for you”
“Thanks”
“See you later Chris” She steps around him and walks towards her room.
Chris grabs his stuff and heads to the door. He holds the doorknob he doesn’t open it. He just stands there. He drops his papers on the floor and heads down the hallway. He grabs MC by the arm spins her around and kisses her deeply
MC wraps her arms around his neck. He tightens his arms around her waist and they stumble into her room kissing shutting the door behind them.
He breaks the kiss momentarily to lift her shirt over her head then unbuttons his shirt which MC pulls off. Chris lifts her up and varies her over to the bed setting her down gently.
He unbuckles her jeans and pulls them off along with her underwear before unbuckling his jeans and pulling them down.
Chris climbs on top of her kissing her jaw then slowly working his way down to unclasp her bra before tossing it aside.
As he kisses her breast his fingers move up and down her wet folds.
MC moans “Chris…”
“God you are so wet” He kisses her as his continues to pump his fingers in and out of her. MC arches off the bed as she continues to moan.
Chris feels her getting close and wraps his arm around her neck “MC look at me” MC slowly opens her eyes and meets his heated gaze. She cries out in pleasure and falls back on the bed she comes.
Chris removes his fingers and positions himself over her slowly entering her. MC wraps her legs around his waist. He thrusts in and out of her as she cries out in pleasure
Chris whispers in her ear “Do you like that?”
“Yes” MC manages to breathe out
He continues to thrust into her and feels her getting close “Baby come with me”
MC comes with Chris following behind her. Chris lays on her chest holding himself up with his elbows not wanting to crush her with his full body weight.
He pulls out of her and rolls over to the side pulling her into his embrace. “I’m so sorry MC for everything I acted like a jerk towards you” He runs his fingers through her hair.
“Chris…”
“Please let me finish” MC looks up at him and nods “These past few days without you has been torture and I can’t spend another day without you. I love you so much”
MC sighs and wraps her arms around his neck “I love you too Chris were going to work this out”
“Yes I’ll make sure of that” He kisses the top of her forehead “No matter what you’ll always have me by your side I promise you that. You mean everything to me I love you”
