Do you have any Husk AU ideas? What remains the same and what changes?

Hello!!! Sorry for the slow reply its been a busy week 😭

I do have several AUs for Husk :D

The first one i made was a happy AU where Emi never died and they gang makes its way out of the country and live happy lives living as travelling merchants and lowkey adventurers :D Husk looks and is a lot softer here, they act more human than fey and tends to be more compassionate to strangers

Another one is a ladyhawk AU one that @hellscribbles and myself made :D Husk's archdruid curses them and Yikes and they both spend the year unable to be together as Husk is a wolf at night and Yikes is bird during the day. We've written a bit for it and I love it a lot :D Husk doesn't change a lot for this one but they do fall back into bad habits

Technically, with Husk being in two campaigns, they are AUs as well;

In campaign 1, Husk is 130 years old, jaded and angry by years of killing and loss. By the time they were in the campaign they'd been pushed to the brink of death and lost most of their friends in their circle, they were "saved" by an archfey who likes collecting projects to rehabilitate problem fey who'd become unseelie and spent decades in the feywild which displaced them centuries on the material plane. They were sent to the material plane 300 years after their time their to find some relics of the archfey that were stolen by humans but they were strictly barred from killing any nobles unless they were in possession of the relic. The campaign ended after the party killed the king of Chondath who had fused with a changeling and the relic Husk was after. Husk, ever so normal, ate the king and sealed his soul in his crown

And campaign 2 - Husk is still in their Circle in the thick of their war against the humans killing the fey in their forest. They were found out as a changeling while targetting a noble and sent to another country to lay low for a while where they met the party (I came in mid campaign XD). Being away from their Circle and constant battles has been changing them and questioning their life choices for the last 10 years, especially since fey are more accepted outside of their homeland XD

What're Emi and the gang like? Is Emi the (pushy) leader type? :D Did they keep in contact with Husk as they got older?

The gang lives in the port city of Iljak in a country called Chondath (Forgotten Realms lore though the campaign I'm in is home-brew)

Emi- Emi is the defacto leader of the group as the most outgoing human, she can slip through a crowd quite easily and talk her way out of most situations. While she has the group doing doing odd jobs for the thieves guild, she hopes to raise enough money to get the gang (who she sees as her family) out of Chondath and into a neighbouring country that treats the poor and non-humans better (ie not kill on sight for the latter) and ideally wants to get into the magic item trade as a legitimate business like her family.

Emi herself is a bastard, her mother was a foreign merchant and her father is a minor royal. They had intended to marry but her father's family got involved since it wasn't a marriage that would benefit his family. Emi's mother became his mistress in secret and they had two children, Emi and Gus but when the royal family found out they dragged Emi and her family's name through the mud and had Emi's mother killed. Emi and Gus were hidden just in time by their uncle, who still lives in the city unable to leave having been stripped of his wealth and title so he spends his days drinking and Emi takes care of him when she's not with the gang.

Husk knew Emi for about 5 years before she was caught stealing and killed as punishment, this caused Husk and the gang's lives to spiral after losing their best friend and Husk lost contact with everyone after being found out as a fey and sent to the wizard's tower.

Gus - Gus is Emi's younger brother who likes to cause trouble and has less of a moral compass than Emi. He and Husk have been rivals ever since they met but it mellowed out to something more friendly as they got older. Gus has a knack for pushing people's buttons XD

Andi - Andi is a tiefling and the oldest of the group, he works for the thieves guild but spends his free time making sure Emi and the gang are safe. He was originally from a merchant family who were trying to hide his tiefling appearance and spent most of his life in luxury at the cost of his freedom. He escaped that life and his helping Emi with her dream to move to Turmish and start a business there. I have a comic with him here XD

Sonni - Sonni is a young orphaned girl the gang picked up a few months before Husk, she's shy and rarely speaks but is very sweet. She is very nimble and makes a great thief and a wonderful dancer XD

The twins - despite them being created the same time as the others i haven't settled on names for them 😭 these two are half-elven and were born in a small village bordering the Chondalwood forest and were left to their human father to raise but due to Chondath's distrust of even half-elves, they had a rough time growing up, eventually the twins fled to the city under the belief they might have more chances in Iljak but unfortunately the city was stricter and worse it's treatment of non humans. Emi found them soon after they arrived and they've been with the group ever since.

Those are the main members, other kids have come and gone but this is the core group who have stayed together since Husk arrived :D

What's the weirdest thing that Husk turns into on a regular basis? What's their coffee order, and what ice cream do they like? Do they have any niche fears?

Husk likes to turn into a borzoi which we flavoured in game as fey wolves XD it's how the de-stress by just running into an open field and howling for a bit XD they turn into spiders, chipmunks and ferrets too, they like small creatures because it's easy to sneak in places :D

Their coffee order: 1000% they are getting the most horrifically sweet, and insanely caffeinated monstrosity covered in whipped cream and extra caramel, probably with sprinkles XD

As for fears, Husk is incredibly afraid of being restrained to the point of panic and lashing out, even something mild like holding their arm can send their heart rate up. They also hate having any of their senses dulled like being blindfolded or their ears covered

Im gonna ask you the same thing before I answer! Aha! What coffee orders do your folks have? What's their preferred food, and what do they usually have?

Husk is an insatiable sweet tooth, disgustingly sweet coffee with syrups and cream but still with enough caffeine to induce a heart attack XD they also love pastries, the richer and sweeter the better. In the forest they rarely get to indulge so sugary foods are their biggest vice when they're in human society XD

Flynn prefers alcoholic beverages to anything else but if required to drink tea or coffee it's black XD her food choice is anything meaty and hearty like a roast :D though raw fish dishes have a lot of nostalgia for her

Tilly doesn't need to eat and hasn't had a sense of taste for the last 5 years (until recently in game) but she prefers sweet milk tea to coffee and apple pie is her food of choice

Elaina is all for black coffee and lots of it, she needs all the energy she can get for tinkering with her inventions on the road XD as for food, I think her favourite food is special dish her parents made when she was growing up but im not sure what it is yet :D

Hoity Toity (hes a joke character but i love him XD) he's a shifter who is from a super wealthy family and spends 99% of his time in his shifted form. His preferred coffee order is the most expensive thing on the menu and same for the food. Would not be caught dead in a chain coffee joint XD

What kind of wishes might Husk make, given the chance? Would they even wish, knowing they could be twisted from what they truly want?

Oooohhh now that's a good question :D

As a fey, they know how twisted these wishes can get and while they definitely have things they'd want to wish for I think they've seen first hand how much it might fuck someone over XD

For a long while, Husk would have wished that Emi never died or came back to life but as time went on they became consumed with getting power and never being hurt again so that would have twisted into wanting to eventually become an archfey. That being said they hate being in debt to anyone and prefer to do things with their own abilities XD

What's Husk's favourite prank they've pulled? Do they have a fondness for a specific genre of music? What kind of prank recipient is most fun?

Ooohhh this is an excellent question!!

Husk's favourite kind of prank is one that will be remembered. They're not above pretending to be a ghost or some local legend that fucks with some superstition for the next few years XD their favourite person to target is awful people, the worse the better; merchants who rip off the poor, scummy nobles, people who cut them off in line are all fair game to them (they generally are nice and polite to people who respect them and those around them unless they think something might be funny XD). In these cases the pranks will be related to some transgression Husk is targeting them for XD i don't have a particular favourite scenario but I do want to write a comic or two about their silly downtime pranks :D

Their favourite genre of music is probably the setting equivalent of Irish Celtic or Irish jig music, especially if you can dance to it :D
