Captured Devotion
Truth be told, up until recently I had never really considered framing/presenting Calvin Dominic in anything remotely provocative or suggestive (though part of it was that he made pretty sporadic appearances, even after his redesign from last year). Things took a turn when I scripted an rivalry-type interaction between him and another original character, where he once again puts up his smug personality...only for his ego to get thrown down a staircase. That led to me evaluating how to write C.D.'s personality within risque scenarios, eventually culminated in an earlier version of the bottom right doodle. The rest of the doodles were eventually developed from it, although one thing I do want to note here is that in contrast to a good chunk of the Dewey art I've done on this label. I tried having to present C.D. here in these doodles in a less "innocent"/more masculine tone. (Which admittedly does seem to be achieved by mainly having C.D. being shirtless, I guess.)
