Hey this is just a random reply to the queer baiting post you did earlier and you can totally ignore this if you want. I don’t really worry about queer baiting stuff either since I grew up getting scraps of hints and metaphors to represent queer things.
But queer baiting sometimes resonates better with me bc I’ve always had to toe the line to not destroy friendships while also trying to figure out if the person I love feels the same way and figure out the double meaning to what they say and do bc god knows if I’m direct about anything I’ll be mocked or make things awkward. Queer baiting stuff feels like that, where the feelings are there but neither want to ruin what they have or try to keep up appearances bc one or both is afraid of the possible consequences

This is really good way at looking at it! I definitely think that people who grew up being queer baited handle it better than like younger people? It's always nice to see queer representation and I will never be upset for canon queer anything but I just think some people take it a little far at times. I also hate that people think the only good queer stuff is the Canon stuff.
