I’ve been working really hard at trying to become fat adapted with the goal of reaching long term metabolic flexibility, but goddamn, a girl needs a carb every once and a while because I. am. dying.
It’s been 13 days since I had a significant traditional carbohydrate or anything besides meat, nuts, veggies and some dairy, low sugar berries, a sugar free hot chocolate for a treat etc. My muscles have felt depleted, at a whole new low and tonight I caved and had a couple bites of a coworker’s muffin. He didn’t hold a gun to my head and force me to eat it but i was truly dying of glycogen depletion. Carb withdrawal is hell.
