Stacy rushed to the banquet hall, trying to be as discreet as she could. As much as wanted to avoid the nobility, she couldn't let the King of Hearts be assassinated. While she didn't know much about him, it was too soon for her mission for the Joker Kingdom to come to an end. Not to mention her conscience would never forgive her if she just let it happen. Once she reached the servant's entrance to the hall, Stacy carefully made her way across the chamber. Thankfully, being a maid made her less of a sore thumb. But as much as she wondered if she could be invisible to these people, she had a job to do. She spotted the king on his throne. She knew it was him because of the hairstyle she had heard about. That, and she was informed that the throne belonged to the King of Hearts according to the head maid when she was told to polish it. Carefully, Stacy moved past the curtains that covered the wall. A decorative piece that covered doorways such as secret passages or were used to display the importance of the figure beneath them. She breathed a sigh of relief as she saw that the poisoned goblet hadn't arrived yet. Carefully, she made her way behind the throne. Wally, the new king of the Kingdom Hearts, sat on his throne with a bored expression. He knew the importance of this banquet, but he wished he wasn't stuck sitting on his throne. He wanted to mingle, find Julie and Frank, and find some other way to enjoy the event. How did his mother endure these things? How he wished he could talk to her right now and get some advice. He knew it was his responsibility as king. He just wished it wasn't so boring. "Your Majesty! Your Majesty!" a feminine voice whispered harshly from behind his throne.
Wally, hearing the voice, was about to turn when the voice spoke up again, still a whisper. "I apologize, Your Majesty, but don't look in my direction. I've come to warn you of a plot on your life." Hearing this, Wally raised an eyebrow. Another assassination attempt? It wasn't anything new. But...why did this sound urgent? Could he trust this voice? He needed answers, but he heeded this woman's request.
"Who are you?"
"I am a maid that works in your castle. I can't give you my name right now. But what I am about to tell you is the truth." The king kept silent, allowing the mysterious maid to continue.
"Your goblet has been laced with poison. One rare to this kingdom. If you drink it, it'll be impossible to find you a cure in time."
That made Wally's eyes widen. A rare poison? That was new.
"Do you know who poisoned my drink?"
"Yes, Your Majesty. Duke Clove and Duchess Cardamon. Turns out they're sore about your part in the destruction of the Spade Kingdom. It seems they had been Spade supporters from the beginning. Now that they have no kingdom to go back to, they want your life as payment."
Now this was intriguing. So there were some Spades that survived? And Clove and Cardamon of all people. The people he wanted to investigate were making a move against him tonight? Talk about an opportunity.

An idea for a story in the Royalty AU After discovering a plot to assassinate King Wally, Maid, and secret Joker Kingdom agent, Stacy Flannigan takes the initiative to warn him of the plot. After dealing with the culprits, Wally decides to reward the maid while keeping an eye on her in case she was a spy from Spade only to be made surprised when she states that she doesn't want any reward. No matter what he offered, Stacy still refused, saying that she was just doing her duty as a castle maid. This, coupled with his suspicions of her, prompts Wally to promote her to become his personal maid. And while she proves to be an excellent and professional maid, Wally cannot help but be curious about her.
Meanwhile, Stacy just wants to finish her mission and go home. But finds it hard when the King of Hearts starts acting strange around her.
