Cardboard Robot Sloth - All Hallow's Sloths
Happy Hallowe'en at last! Here's the final sloth in the series - there's always that one kid who goes whole hog on their costume, and the sloths are no different. If you watched the timelapse I posted yesterday, you might have noticed that I coloured everything on the cardboard body in its orignal colour before covering it up with the silver. Can you tell from the final piece? Nope. Was it worth it for the fact that I'll always know? Oh definitely.

A large carboard box makes up the base of the torso of the costume, and there is a smaller box on the sloth's head. The boxes are coloured so that it looks inexpertly spray-painted silver, with some of the brown of the cardboard still showing through. The front of the large box has various things glued to it, including a CD, as well as painted on dials and switches and things. The smaller box has one side cut out so that you can see the sloth's face. On the sides of the box are two protrusions, about where ears would go, and there's a small antenna on the very top. The arms of the costume are made from flexible ducting tube, and the sloth is clearly having to hold its arms at odd angles in order to wear the costume properly.
