Clem and Silas - Art Nouveau Commission

This one is for two characters from Court of the Magi LARP, as a gift from Clem's player ( @bordeauxrhapsody )to Silas' player. They gave me a really lovely sketch to start from, and we stayed pretty close to it the whole time!

The flowers we started with were: Arnica (backstory reasons) Orange blossoms (purity equals loveliness/eternal love/marriage) Purple irises (message/faith/promise in love)

And then we looked at a bunch of other flowers before settling on these four to keep the colour scheme: White camellias (unpretending excellence, perfected loveliness) American cowslip (divine beauty/you are my angel) Dwarf sunflower (devoted adoration) Indian jasmine (I attach myself to you)

Victoria, Paladin Redux 3 - Personal Work Redrew an old character as a "Draw this again" challenge - this is Victoria, Paladin of an Unknown God, back again - a little older, a little wiser, and a little more fashionable. And the final piece of the set - we were calling her "Bloodspatter Barbie" while I was working on her, and honestly… yeah. She's my favourite of the set - which is why I saved her for last!

W40k mini Astartes - Token Toys Commission

So one of the cards in Tom's deck comes from the W40k precons and makes Astartes - and the only way to do a toy verison of an astartes is to do a space marine mini, obviously. (This guy is meant to look like everyone's very first badly painted, poorly put together, but very beloved, space marine.)

This is another one I referenced heavily from the original art (Kobolds of Kher Keep by Paolo Parente) - and then just turned it lumpy and green.

I love how manic this little guy looks - he's here, he's got a knife and he's SO ready to make use of it!

Chucky Doll Goblin - Token Toys Commission

One of Tom's favourite goblin tokens is the official goblin from Tarkir Dragonstorm, so this guy is based on that for pose and features. He's meant to look like he has a hard plastic head, hands and feet, but a floppy stuffed body.

Cymbal Monkey Toy - Token Toys Commission

This one is the illustration for the Toy Token - it was surprisingly tricky to decide which toy truly exemplified "toy"… as well as being truly haunted. Eventually we settled on this haunted cymbal monkey. Don't worry about it.

Ok so… when there's a gnome on the list, it's… it's obvious right?? Like, this didn't need any thinking at all, this was just… it was almost drawn before the commission was even started right???

This was one that took us a lot of work to settle on - it was hard to find a good "bug" toy that would read as a toy in the illustration, but also was funny and kinda haunted. So here's some cicadas that want to watch the world burn.

This was one of the first ideas I had, when I was told the broad strokes of the commission. I knew I had to include a muppet. And then when I saw the list of creatures, the elementals just made sense.

Marionette Soldier v1 - Token Toys Commission

There are a number of different soldiers and such that Tom's deck can make, so we did two variations on a Marionette Soldier. The background on this one is meant to look like a painting a child did to put on their puppet show. (And, uh, it's not in great shape.)
