The Princess of Wales with baby Violet Taylor's family who tragically passed away after her battle with TBCK syndrome during a visit to her new patronage Tŷ Hafan, a children’s hospice based in Sully, near Cardiff | 30 JANUARY 2025
What a truly, unbelievably special, incredible day we have had. Tŷ Hafan invited us, and our beautiful friends, to the hospice to be part of the first official visit of their new patron -The Princess of Wales. We had the chance to sit and talk to her about Violet, her story and all of the ways that Tŷ Hafan have been there for our family. We were so, so nervous! Not only to be meeting her but to make sure we were able to truly convey what the hospice means to families like ours. But our nerves were settled within moments when she showed such a genuine warmth towards us and we really felt like she cared and wanted to hear what we had to say. I don't think there is quite a word to say what it felt like to hear The Princess of Wales say my little girls name. And Violet and Winnie definitely brought the sunshine for us today as well. We are so grateful to have had the day that we have had, a day we will remember forever and one that will be spoken about by our family for generations to come - and when those future generations talk about how we met the future Queen, they will also talk about Violet and that is a very special thing indeed. Thank you isn't enough, Tŷ Hafan. We are sure this new patronage will bring so much to the charity that we love so much.
