ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ❛ tell me, is she prettier than she was on the internet ? — are your conversations cool ? like, are you even interested ? ( — ) tell mе if she takes you far enough away from all the baggage you've been carrying. ❜
takes place : an empty playground with squeaky swings.
@cardigaen .
" get off of me . " words are spit out before the scene around them is truly taken into account , before she can see just how close they are . the scene erupts and she hasn't the slightest clue where she's being dragged to , who is pulling her out of the middle , though she isn't blind to the fact that the good daughter is brought front and center . always opposite magnets , north and south , are the pace - forbes girls . not until the crowd is suddenly in another room , they are pulled from the commotion , does it all settle on her . fabric that is a protective cloak on her shoulders has slipped and for the first time in too many years , she's being touched . " said , off . "
" i just wanted to live somewhere where no one knew me . "
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤfeigns a dramatic wince, dragging out the hissed ‘ ooo ’ as they rounded the corner. he’d seen the sensation that was twilight, and while he didn’t have a particular bone to pick with it, it always irked him that they got so many things wrong. but what was he supposed to do ? show up at the writers & authors doors and say ‘ hey, i’m a real vampire, here’s a list of your mistakes, idiots ! ’ ? while tempting, didn’t bode well for his privacy and life. stops at the tiny coffee shop, facing the girl. it’s a lovely place, something he would have imagined she'd pick out, and a smile curved his lips at the confirmation that she was exactly how he imagined when he’d seen her. ❝ yeah, well that’s what happens when you don’t have anything going on in your life. ❞ offers a lighthearted shrug, matching the easy laugh between them. but that sweet band aid is quickly torn off when she says her name. too sweet to the ears, but sends something twisting down his stomach. a sudden set of nausea overcomes him, and he has to take a notable step back. what were the chances … the same name ? the same face ? it’s enough to catch him off guard and he has to quickly compose himself ; schooling features back into one of impasse, but the shock still lingers in his eyes. ❝ rafe. ❞ tone calm as can be — but he needs to get the fuck out of here. right now. figure this shit out. ❝ cassandra. that’s a lovely name — and this is a lovely shop … but i’ve just realized i needed to go pick up that cousin i mentioned. maybe you can [ … ] show me this shop another time, yeah ? ❞
" don't - i've already got one idiot i gotta make sure stays in one piece . don't do somethin' stupid and add to that list . "
for @cardigaen.
" i've never been jealous of anyone before ... " he mumbled underneath his breath. and he fucking hated it. blood boiled when he saw him around her, trying to touch her ... trying to get into her fucking pants. " it drives me fucking mad. "
˙ ៹ ♡ @cardigaen / este & emma.
she really doesn't know what she's doing here. she can't remember the last time she considered drew a friend. then again, that's not exactly a requirement to show up at his parties; everyone comes, everyone indulges. it's one of the stellar points of living in talwood, idaho. este supposes that's why she's here : there's not much else to do in a dull town like this. still, it's easy to get overwhelmed with it all. she hits that wall some half hour into the party, & promptly excuses herself from the energetic cluster of drunk college students & dropouts. she makes her way to the backyard, taking a route that she knows like the back of her hand. ( once upon a time, there was a connection here. between her, drew, bobby, & the others ⎯⎯ she can't tell you when it died or whose fault it was. just that they pass her around town now & rarely say a word. ) she pulls her cardigan closer around herself as she steps closer to the pool. against all odds, no one is out here, the party perfectly contained in the oversized crane mansion. she draws in a breath as she looks down at the water. then there's a snap ! somewhere behind her, closer to the trees. she whips her head around, brows furrowing as she searches for the source. " hello ? " she starts to take a step towards the woods, then thinks better of it. she turns back towards the house, prepared to walk back into the party, when she catches sight of someone else coming outside. " oh. emma . . . hi. " god. when was the last time she spoke to her ? something crosses este's mind then. " i think drew was looking for you. before, you know . . . the beer pong game started. " it isn't particularly surprising. drew is always searching the room for emma, has been that way ever since he was prepubescent. time passes, but his schoolboy crush on her never does. " you look . . . good. really good. "
