I used to reuse plastic produce bags over and over or not even use bags I would just roll my apples down the conveyer belt and give the cashier my best, "I'm sorry" look as she stacked them on the scanner. Luckily a couple years ago I came across Carebags and Got it!. A Canadian company that was founded by two Mom's in Mission, BC these bags are perfect for all your produce; fruits, vegetables, loose greens, as well as various bulk items: nuts, seeds, grains, dried fruit. About the only thing you can't put in them is flours. The Carebags are more durable, last longer, stretch in both directions, can hold up to 11lbs, and are soft to the touch. I have easily fit 6 large mango's in these bags. The Got it bags are only rated for 5 years use compared to the 20 years the Carebags are rated, are rougher to the feel, and they only stretch in one direction but they are still great! They do stain easier though especially if you but dates in them but they can easily be thrown in the wash I have not found any reusable bags that are comparable over the years. I bought some that were "similar" at Jimbo's in California but after a couple of months they began to get small holes in them and my nuts would escape. Pick up these great bags and reduce the amount of plastic out there!
