Careem captain shot dead on road during a robbery attempt

A Careem captain was shot dead in Rawalpindi yesterday early morning while on duty. Though investigations on the matter are currently under way, early results have hinted that there were about four main culprits involved in the crime.

As per the initial reports, four men tried snatch car from a Careem captain Muhammad Waqas from Satellite Town area, Rawalpindi.

According to the accounts of eye-witnesses, four men tried to snatch the car. While trying to resist the robbery attempt, Waqas was shot by criminals, he died on spot.

Careem Pakistan has affirmed that such incident happened and it has offered heartfelt condolences to the late captain’s family. The company has revealed that Waqas lost his life were running a family errand, and was off-duty at that time.

Careem in a statement revealed:

“May Allah rest the departed soul and grant strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen. We request you all to remember Mr. Waqas and his family in your prayers.”

A Careem captain was badly beaten up by Moulvi for an entirely wrong reason!

Careem and Uber have undoubtedly become a topic of immense debate among the masses around the country. However, it is unfortunate that they are being targeted for all the wrong reasons. Just recently, while scrolling through my news feed, I came across a Facebook post depicting how far have we gone away from humanity. Before I discuss any further, let’s see the post and the brutality inflicted on a Careem captain by a so-called pious Moulvi:

As you may have read the post, it is shocking and infuriating at the same time that how come a Moulvi using his unjust authority could beat someone and damage someone’s property, even though they are at the right place. The Careem Captain had parked his car at the right place alongside the vehicles of other people, so why particularly he was made the target? We might never know!

This act committed by the so-called preachers of faith should be discouraged at the earnest. They have no authority to beat someone out of the blue, let alone a Namazi offering his prayers in peace.

We condemn this act and alarm the concerned authorities to probe the matter at the earliest, because if not budded out from the roots, such cases will keep on spreading in this society.
