So uh, I’ve been getting ready to head over to the island and took this selfie with Marina the Lapras before I left! The Sunrise light makes her look so pretty! Marina is a lapras who’s been at the sanctuary for about a decade now and she ferries pokemon and people back and forth between the mainland and the island! She’s such a sweetie and a poser lol

Froslass, the Snowland Pokemon!

Sometimes I wanna have a talk with whoever comes up with the sub names. They can be so dumb sometimes. Also: WHO LET YOU HAVE YOUR HANDS COME FROM YOUR HEAD??? ELEGANTLY ILLEGAL. Snowrunt is cute tho.

What happened to Clover's right hindleg?

Clover had a birth defect that caused that leg to not form properly! He used to have more of that leg intact but it was causing issues with his walking, so it was amputated to the thigh. Doesn't stop him from running around or being a normal mon though!

Have you seen any Legendary or Mythical Pokemon near your sanctuary, or did you name your sanctuary after Celebi just because you're a mythology buff?

Oh! I didn't name the sanctuary! I'm just the most recent owner/manager! It's actually pretty old, I think my pops said it was at least a few centuries old, can't remember exactly. We do get some mythical and legendary pokemon passing through, though we mostly see them on the trail cams!

  The basic story goes that, all those centuries ago, an injured traveller was running from someone and carrying his injured pokemon. They were slowing down a lot and would surely be caught. Spotting a nearby forest they made a mad dash into it in hopes of hiding from the persuers. However, this didn't work.. The traveller was found and knew they and thier pokemon would be captured. That's when Celebi appeared infront of the traveller, having sensed their determination to protect their pokemon to the bitter end.

The details get a bit fuzzy after that but, the Celebi helped the traveller using its ability to time travel. And in return the traveller vowed to continue to help any pokemon in need. They travelled found our island and set up here, naming the sanctuary they created after the pokemon that had saved their life.

My Field Journal for Chimchar, the Chimp Pokemon! I’m gonna start putting my thoughts under a read more though!

Chimchar have an average height of 1′08 (0.5m) and weigh an average of 13.7lbs (6.2kg). These lil mons are extremely agile and can be found living on cliffs in groups with other Chimchar and their evolutionary relatives, Monferno and Infernape! They are very social, even with other pokemon and humans! However, if a chimchar is raised by humans from birth it can begin to act more like a human toddler than a pokemon and they lose the ability to communicate with their own kind. This is extremely harmful for the pokemon and if possible a foster parent (even of a different species) is highly recommended, aspecially since in the wild they are typically found clinging to caretakers for the first few months.

In the wild, these pokemon are known for being sassy and often learn to fight and control their fire at young ages. However, their control isnt perfect and they can be dangerous if they are startled! The fire of its tail is actually fueled by stomach gas and can be extinguished at will!
