ICU Consultant: eh. NG feeds. That’s nil by mouth. Technically.
Me: ...
Me: ... okay look, yes, but the patient had an orogastric tube, so if we’re getting into semantics, he’s not nil by mouth. He’s by tube by mouth.
Me: and we still need to stop the feeds
ICU Consultant: Damn those semantics!
