Not a party pooper. Just shows that people have different reasons for watching Glee/tv in general, and want different things from it. Personally, I want the fantasy. It’s an escape. IRL, I’m pretty unenthusiastic about marriage and weddings.
Now I'm wondering if my statement made it sound like I am down about marriage. I actually think that making a commitment to stick through the worse is a pretty awesome and positive thing to do. I just don't see it as a closing of an arc. I wonder if it's just all gifs that start with "Teenage Dream" or Blaine's speech in "Original Song" that make me get this sense that it's being read as a closed narrative now?

No. I hope we get to see some of their struggles. much more than the happily-ever-after story.
Here, here! Well, if we don't see them (please say we will, RIB!), I guess that's what we have fanfiction for. :)

Nope. Not a party pooper. I think things are going to get hard for Klaine in the future. The fairy tale won’t last too long. And it’s going to be great to watch! But right now, nothing wrong to enjoying the happy, happy, happy XD
I agree there's nothing wrong with being happy. I think it's great. I just don't see it as a solution to their problems or a resolution to last season's arc, which is an interpretation that I think differs from some other things I've seen on my dash.

Well, presumably this is why the proposal is the beginning of this season than the end of last season, right? It’s a beginning, not an end. That said, I for one am happy to be happy for the boys again after their months of pain and disconnection.
Interesting. I've been viewing Season 4/5 as a 33-episode (or thereabouts) story arc rather than a 22-episode one (as well as season 5/6). But I could be totally wrong about that. Although I can also see the symbolism of putting the proposal at the beginning of the season -- still that's not quite satisfying to me because I am stuck right now on this idea of engagement and marriage being a middle.
It made me very happy that Kurt was at a place at the McKinley courtyard picnic where he felt comfortable making/stating a decision about their relationship and what it was to him. And it made me happy to see him in love.

i assumed one of the reasons they were getting engaged now was so the show could delve into the continuing work of a relationship. i think there is drama ahead for them. not like last year with cheating and breakups, but other things.
Oh, yeah, I assume so too. Maybe I had just seen too many statements the past few days to the effect of "this is where they're journey has brought them" and I'm like, "Well, yes, but also no, because this is not the final destination. It's a town that they're passing through on the journey."
