“And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.” - Acts 4:33
Grace has nothing to do with what we can offer but what God has already done on the Cross, a gift we don’t deserve. As Christians, we should know this by heart. No matter how many times we attend Sunday services, sing praises, do good things to others, or even be a vessel of God’s salvation, we cannot add up to His Glory. Christianity does not put us on a pedestal that makes us higher beings. Christianity breaks us to the very depths of ourselves and makes us humble before God.
We let ourselves be used for His Glory because we love to obey His command (Matthew 28:19). There will be times that people (even friends and family) will mock you. You may even feel uneasy and tell yourself you can’t do it because you know yourself well. But understanding how weak we are will bring us on our knees begging for God’s love. God being ever gracious, merciful, and loving does not shut His ear to hear our cries. He makes sure we experience a one on one relationship with Him. And when we do so, our goal should always be to share this experience with others around us.
