Tonight I had a dream about vines chasing me through a forest, no matter where I turned or how fast I ran, they always caught up to me and cut me off. In the end they caught me and wrapped me up tightly, but when I woke up I didn't feel the dreas I shouls have been feeling...
There was only this deep set fuzzy feeling spreading throughout my whole body

The brave knight bravely listened to her barber surgeon and took strong care of her health by sleeping in the large bed of her queen. The day had been very tough for her. She lost her favorite sword!
Catherine, who knew nightmarish memories of her time as a rebel lay ahead, felt safer in the queen's arms.
"I can feel you toss every night. You don't need to be afraid, my brave knight. I'll always protect you." Queen Somnity rubbed circles into the back of her consort's nightgown. "I'll save you from all the bad dreams, Catherine."
Queen Somnity wouldn't lie to Catherine. She knew this. She trusted her queen. She was safe with her queen. She could fall asleep in her queen's arms.
Her body belonged to the queen, so why would she hide it?
Queen Somnity kissed her goodnight, and the dreams came.
"Queen forces outside the perimeter! To the front, Catherine!" came the sharp voice of her mentor.
Catherine was tired. She hadn't slept. She couldn't sleep. She knew that any minute spent unconscious was a minute she may not live through. She instead pushed herself to work through the night, same as the past three nights.
It wore on her, but she didn't let herself complain when she tacked on her armor in the mirror. The steel plates cut her skin as they slid on. She didn't notice the blood. She always bled. The pain was normal. She was told she had to pay for freedom with pain.
[ASK MISTRESS FOR SUIT OF ARMOR AND SWORD]
The metal rested uncomfortably on bone.
She was not brave. She walked out to the muddy battlefield and faced her death completely afraid of her mentor's wrath. She owed half her scars to him. And sometimes, she wished it would all finally end.
Catherine exited her tent, entering into a meeting with her mentor calmly discussing battle plans under candle light. Five attendants gathered with them.
A pauldron slipped off her shoulder like nothing ever strapped it on. Bruised and bloody skin laid open for the world to see.
She was helpless to bend down and grab it. Something wouldn't let her move. She was powerless.
Her mentor said, "five to the east is alright, but we could…"
Catherine's eyes tracked the queen's assassin who walked up behind an attendant and non-lethally slit their throat. Nobody else in the tent acknowledged it. She was screaming for someone to acknowledge it, but not a drop of air came from her mouth.
Her other pauldron came off with a gauntlet as well, all thudding into the rug below. The assassin took another attendant. A greave fell off.
Catherine's mentor looked up from her map. "Where's your uniform, knight?"
The mentor's head non-lethally fell to the ground along with the rest of Catherine's armor. The attendant's were gone. It was her and the assassin, who crept closer.
The assassin was a tall woman with almost a queenly figure beneath the dark robes. She touched over Catherine's shoulders, whose body couldn't jump at the intrusion yet desperately tried to.
The assassin's hands draped over Catherine's chest. "You're safe with me," the all-commanding voice tried to comfort.
Catherine's body was gripped tightly, given the grace of a gentle assassin's fingers.
"You're safe right now. Keep sleeping."
Catherine gasped. The blood on her skin disappeared where her assailant touched, and her assailant touched everywhere. She touched with a familiarity that didn't make sense.
"Do you feel good, my consort?"
She felt good.
Catherine was holding onto the assassin for any sense of composure. Nimble digits, soft and belonging to a noble woman, entered her. She looked down and the assassin's cloak was wrapped around them both; they shared a bare touch against each other.
"I can feel how close you are. Don't wake up, darling. Just let it happen."
Catherine was ready.
She was obedient to her queen.
She knew to close her eyes and let her body feel everything for her.
For Catherine was safe in the queen's bedroom with the queen's hands on her. She was safe.
She was safe.
Somniferum found out that I'm less anxious about my story getting read if I'm blindfolded. So I'm blindfolded. And loopy from the extra xenodrugs.
She's all wrapped around me. Her vines gripping me keep me safe, her flowers falling like curtains to keep me comfortable. I'm all in her control. Just like how Knight Catherine always slept in Queen Somnity's arms.
That voice like a meadow bush in a soft breeze echoes around me. "Do you get nightmares, kate?"
"Uh, n-no! It's just a story! Like the last one."
"Like the last one…" she repeats with that low, breathy voice. A vine brushes behind my ear. "You look tired. We'll talk about your use of language in the morning."
"Yes! Mistress!"
"And don't write about blood. You shouldn't have such scary topics in your head, petal. You don't like blood." She kisses my hair. "Let me help you get your armor on."
Mistress has been very kind about letting me wear my suit of armor to bed. I feel safe with all the mail and my sword. And it's a very sharp sword! My mistress told me!
I snuggle into my bed, sword in my arms and me in my mistress's arms.
"I look forward to every story you write, kate. Your mistress is very proud of you for writing them."
She's proud of me.
A warm feeling forces a breath from my chest.
"It's okay. Sleep, my brave knight."
Sleep… Just like how Knight Catherine could sleep safely in Queen Somnity's arms!
Something pricks my arm, and I feel my vision fading.
I used to have nightmares, but these nights I only dream of my mistress. I did once have a nightmare that she would hate me story. But she would never hate my story!
My armor of soft, crocheted chains rises with my deep breaths, getting slower…
I'm drawing a map for my mistress. I wanted it to show the territory she owns, but none of the dictionaries I open will tell me where we are.
'Snannettum,' each entry reads. A nation in upper south-eastern space. It's a verb.
I know my mistress would be sad if there were feral sophonts, so I draw a circle around the entry and sign the bottom with my name so everyone knows it's a map.
"It doesn't know it's listening to us," the regal voice of Somniferum comes from behind me.
She's sitting on her throne of pillows with vines draped over like hop bines, a crown on her head and talking to another affini. Neither of them acknowledge me, despite talking about me.
The other affini says, "it wears ghastly cloaks."
I speak up. Try to. I can't speak, so I think really hard instead. Mistress Somniferum? I made you a map.
"Look at its map." Somiferum unfolds a paper map from her pocket. "It gave me control of Sourettum."
"This will be good for the sophonts in Stiretti," the other affini agrees.
I pleased her!
"My knight."
The queen's behind me. She pull off my pauldrons and wraps a leafy scarf around my neck.
I whimper things that are supposed to be words.
"Stay just still for me. Like this." She reaches down my thighs with her many soft hands and hikes up my chain mail skirt. "You're safe in the armor."
Safe in the armor.
"Stay still, petal." She pushes her hand—her… leafy hand under my underwear. Heh, that's uh, funny! "Good girl. Like that."
I like that so much. Stars above, I love my queen. My body is all hers, and so can my brain be—maybes. Maybes and…
I squeak and hide my face in her body. My queen's heart hums such a lovely melody, better than all her court bands combined. The feeling of her touch is blooming over me in the rhythm of her song.
My sword nearly falls out from my hands, but my queen keeps it cradled to my chest. She is such an impressive queen. Nothing in life is greater than loving her. She's as soft as a thousand pillows and as sharp as my very sharp sword.
And my queen's touch is so very—Oh, agh! I try to scream, but I can't. Her song overwhelms my head, and my body obeys. It always obeys! I'll always obey. It feels so good to obey. I love my queen.
"I love you" I finally manage to say.
"I love you so much, knight."
My love for my queen seems to have stained some of my mail. I keep on getting up to wash it in the river, but every time I take a step, I'm back in my queen's arms with her rubbing my hair.
I try really hard this time to be at the river washing it, but my queen is holding me still again.
