Having joined West Ham in the summer of 2018, Carlos Sanchez has not exactly enjoyed the greatest of times in London. The Colombia international has played just 16 times in total since making the move to the Premier League side, whilst his football this season has been incredibly limited too – prior to the clash against West Brom, he only had 293 minutes of first-team action under his belt. So having been given the chance to make a rare appearance against the Championship side in the FA Cup fourth round, Sanchez would no doubt have been hoping to make a very strong impression. All sanchez fault!!!!Sell him nowww — Oliver (@Oliver63832321) January 25, 2020 carlos sanchez must be the only columbian that doesnt tackle , haller so weak for a big centre forward , #WHUFC — Bob Clark (@bobclark56) January 25, 2020 ⚒️⚒️ Sanchez is a huge liability. He has no clue. Get him off ⚒️⚒️#COYI #WHUFC #Hammers — Phil Mead #FBPE #Remain #Rejoin (@phil_mead) January 25, 2020 A few fans couldn’t quite believe how Sanchez is considered a professional footballer, with one supporter in particular claiming that he is “stealing a living”. How can you be a PROFESSIONAL footballer, be paid £40,000 a week and not be able to make a 15 yard pass! #sanchez #balbeuna putting in minimum wage performances! #whu #WHUFC — Chris Morris ⚒️ (@ChrisMorrisX) January 25, 2020 Carlos Sanchez and Balbuena are stealing a living as footballers. — Khaleem Azam (@AzamWHUFC) January 25, 2020 Embarrassing as each week comes we get more embarrassing, Sanchez wouldn’t get in a pub team, could be 3 or 4 down — Duncan Smith (@duncsmith58) January 25, 2020 Another couple of West Ham fans insisted that they never want to see Sanchez put on the Hammers shirt again, and claimed they would much rather see a youngster play instead – Conor Coventry being one named that was mentioned. Sanchez should never play for us again. Not even on the bench, put a youngster on there. Bloke is a disgrace #westham #WHUFC — Gary Mills ⚒ (@GaryMillsy) January 25, 2020 Never want to see Sanchez in that shirt ever again!!! Surely Conor Coventry would have done much better job!!! Zaba bless his heart is just old for this level now! Would not write Ajeti off yet — majklpops92 (@majklpops92) January 25, 2020 It is difficult to see how Sanchez can have a long-term career with West Ham. The 33-year-old has barely played under either Manuel Pellegrini or Moyes, and judging by the very strong reaction of Hammers fans on social media, he may just be better off making a move away. HOW MUCH DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT FOOTBALL IN 2019? OUR QUIZ WILL TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE… Declan Rice and Mark Noble appear to be first-choice in the deep-lying central midfield roles, and Sanchez for his own good, would surely benefit from leaving for pastures new. Meanwhile, this reported West Ham target doesn’t offer much more than Sebastien Haller. #WestHam #CarlosSanchez #WestBrom
