Day 3 - "I don't need a reason"

Medium: Fanfiction Fandom: Snowpiercer (TV show 2020) Pairing: Alexandra Cavill/Carly Roche Rating: T Trigger Warnings: None

“You've been avoiding me,” Carly huffed the accusation as she entered Alex’s makeshift lab. 

Alex stiffened, but didn't turn to face her friend. 

“I've been busy,” she replied. It wasn't a lie.

“That's never stopped you from hanging out with me before,” Carly pointed out.

Alex looked up at her sharply and insisted, “I haven't been avoiding you.”

Carly's eyes narrowed and her lips pursed in disbelief. Alex kept her face neutral as she stared back. Eventually Carly looked away first, hugging herself as her eyes found the floor.

“Did I do something wrong?” Carly asked. 

“No,” Alex responded easily. 

It was true. But after seeing Carly close to another girl their age, laughing as she stood against the outside of the New Eden canteen, something ugly had twisted inside Alex. And so, she'd throw herself into her work. 

“Then why have I barely seen you in four days?”

“I don't need a reason,” Alex growled. 

It was the wrong thing to say. Carly’s head snapped up, and her nostrils flared as she marched towards Alex. Alex gulped at the intensity on Carly’s face as they stood toe to toe.

“Yes, you do,” Carly insisted, “We’re friends, Alex. Friends don't ignore each other for days.”

“Yeah, well, you have other friends,” Alex pointed out.

Carly laughed incredulously, “You're jealous?”

Alex didn't answer. Carly softened as she took in Alex’s silence. Alex wished she was anywhere but there. 

“I didn't like how I felt when I saw you the other day,” Alex mumbled, “I'm sorry.”

“Look at me,” Carly murmured. 

Alex mustered up the courage to do so. She'd barely met the other girl’s eyes before Carly was leaning in, pressing their lips together. 

“What–?” Alex asked breathlessly after Carly pulled away. 

“I like Ellie,” Carly rolled her eyes, “But you're the only one I like like, Alex.”

Alex managed to swallow down the instinctive groan at the cheesiness of the moment. And then she leaned forward, answering Carly’s confession with another kiss. 

“You're the only one I like this way, too,” Alex admitted. 

Carly grinned, “Good.”

“Good,” Alex agreed.

“Don't ignore me again,” Carly demanded. 

Alex nodded, and then Carly leaned in again. They both smiled into the next kiss.

Carly and Alex is my new Snowpiercer mainship. Their chemistry, the way they understand eachother because they both lost their moms (although I refuse to believe that Melanie’s dead until I see a body). It’s awesome.

Alex blackmailing the therapist-guy into letting  Carly see Roche? Ingenious.

Carly calling Alex a beast? Hot asf.

I can just imagine Alex smuggling  Carly into the engine and them chilling in the bunk room.
