Carly was pretending to be a puppy so I started petting her to play along and then she goes; "Please don't pet me, Mommy. I'm allergic to you." Well DAMN.....
This year we got Carly:
A fire truck that makes sounds and drives and everything (she's been begging for a fire truck since this summer)
A wooden kitchen playset from Kenmore. (the only thing I dislike about it is the fact that the over opens up to the side and not downward)
A full set of metal Kenmore play kitchen ware
A little pink electric guitar
The Princess & The Frog DVD
Barbie DVD
Spongebob DVD
Doc McStuffins dress up
Doc McStuffins Doctor bag w/ extra accessories
Play make up & nail polish
Elsa dress up shoes
Elsa, Anna & Kristoff dolls from The Disney Store
A table & chair set for her to sit at
A full tea party set
A big huge bucket of Mega Blocks
Do you think I got her enough? I don't think I got her enough! She's two so it's not like she'll be counting lol. Plus, other people are going to be giving her stuff too.
While I was doing Carly's hair this morning she goes; "Mommy? I love Christmas." It made me smile so big. Carly is going to have the best Christmas ever! I can't wait to give her all of her awesome gifts!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Carly and I went to the Dollar Store to pick up a few things this morning and when she saw the Christmas section she about flipped her lid. "Mommy! We're at the Christmas house!" First of all, I haven't talked to her about Christmas, we haven't decorated yet and we've barely begun listening to holiday music. To my knowledge, her only exposure to the holiday was anything she possibly remembers from last year and small bits from The Nightmare Before Christmas. But there she was, when I was buckling her in the car, saying; "Mommy, I want Christmas. Please can we have Christmas?" This year oughta be fun. :)
Carly is testing us so bad today...
I made her buttery pasta with mixed veggies, she told me she didn't like it and threw it on the floor right in front of my face. We made her clean it up and toss it.
Now she's sitting back down with the same meal, crying and whining. I'm not making her a different dinner, she can wait until breakfast tomorrow. And someone is definitely going to bed early. We are beyond this behavior.
Carly is in that stage of "What's That?"
If you thought kids going "Why? Why? Why? Why?" is annoying, you haven't lived with a toddler who goes "What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That?" This morning Carly and I were watching Frozen and she was acting as though she had never seen the movie before. "What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That? What's That?" I felt like I was narrating the movie for her.
I know that she's a toddler and is very curious, but do I have to answer her every time? And most of the time, I don't even know what she's pointing at. Like yesterday while we were in Walmart, she asked "What's That?" every 5 seconds while pointing out into wide open space. There was hundreds of objects in the vague area in which she was pointing. I eventually just said; "I don't know."
My 2 year old probably thinks I'm an idiot but I just can't answer her every single time. It's mentally exhausting.
Carly is beginning to be veeery interested in earrings. She keeps bringing me pairs from my jewelry box and asking me to put them in and doesn't understand I only have so many piercings lol. She's also getting very frustrated that she can't wear them herself. Eric and I always said she can get her ears pierced when she asks for them but I think 2 is still too young because she won't understand what's going on. I can see it being a bad experience considering she's afraid of wearing band-aids and getting her bangs trimmed. I'll be getting her ears pierced correctly so I want to be able to explain to her what goes into it. No piercing guns for her ears!
