As a young artist going into art school, I had a lot of ideas about how I was supposed to do things and how they were supposed to be. Some of the very best advice I ever received was from my illustration professor, Carm Goode, the creator of the iconic characters from Otter Pops. He told me that illustration (and art in general) meant using whatever you needed however you needed to get the job done. That has always stuck with me.
