Slow cooked lamb shoulder, roasted red peppers, feta cheese, and lemon-oregano sauce. I also really liked the spicy chicken bun, which was a whole grilled British chicken thigh, with homemade guacamole, spicy onion & tomato salsa, mayo, and fresh cilantro. If you’ve got enough room left then you have to finish with the choco bun. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | On the weekend I went down to @the_life_goddess in @kinglycourt Carnaby Street via @prsocialite to check out their new brunch menu. It’s a cute looking Greek restaurant serving up a very egg-based brunch with sweet options. We went for the SKG Breakfast Sandwich, which was 2 fried eggs in the middle of the bread, with chorizo, and also fried eggs on sourdough. (I’m sorry, I didn’t take a photo of the menu and it’s not online, so I can’t get the name). The food was in no way bad, I just didn’t think it was great. I thought it was a bit basic. The eggs on sourdough should have had a Greek butter with it, but it didn’t seem too evident. I think around £8 for a couple of eggs on a piece of bread wasn’t really justified. The sandwich was a bit better, but again just lacked a bit of character. For the sweet options we went for the Nutella and Black Forest fruit pancakes, and the filled croissant with morello cherry. I’m not sure what the croissant was meant to be filled with, but ours didn’t have anything inside, apart from what seemed like syrup. The croissant itself was a bit stodgy, and I don’t know if that was to do with the syrup inside. The pancakes too weren’t too soft, and just didn’t excite me. Unfortunately for me this brunch didn’t hit any spots, and even though I am very grateful to @the_life_goddess and @prsocialite for inviting me down, I HAVE to be honest with my experience.
