haven't been able to find any motivation to draw in a long time also bc my ancient ipad is is on its deathbed and that's what i use to draw but i wanted to do something since i've got spies and detectives and whatnot on the brain so have this
finally decided to do some king candy practice sketches ! and by that i mean fully colour each and every one of them bc i have something wrong with me

as you can porbbaly tell i decided to do 2 versions each - one drawing over the original image to get a better feel for the shapes , and the other version was only looking at the original as a reference and going off what i learned from the first version
these are all posted in the sequential order i finished drawing them in but i actually did the sketches in a different order (original sketches went from 4 , 2 , 1 , 3)
this took me like 12 hours and shockingly 5 of them were the sketches alone lmao although tbf i redid some of the sketches multiple times as i slowly understood the shapes better as i went along ... i think i could've redone another sketch or two in places but i've been at this all day and i knew obsessively worrying about them was just going to drive me nuts but yknow what i'm already planning on doing some more references another time this was really fun and it helped me understand how to draw kc just a little better + a perfect on-base model isn't really what i'm intending to strive for in my future drawings anyway i need to figure out my own style eventually but yknow ✨practice makes perfect✨
anyway i'd definitely have to say my favourite is the second one ('thank you for that stirring introduction') when i was doing that one i just felt my brain cells really go 'in the zone' for lack of a better description ... unfortunately i had to leave 'the zone' bc my ipad was dying (its about 10+ years old so it kinda needs to be on the charger at all times it still does a good job it just needs breaks here and there) and my hands were starting to hurt by that time bc i'd been at it for hours and i needed a dinner break anyway haha but yeah 'the zone' as an unfortunate result left me so i couldn't come up with cool enough backgrounds for the other ones bc i already used all my brain juice oops
anywy i'm really tired i'm gonna go to bed now 😁👍

i made this in like uuuh august 2023 i still kind of like the idea of this song to blupani but yeah i'm never finishing it . but hey may as well share it anyway
