I’m bored so here are some Mr. L headcanons

Mr. L’s mask is enchanted to hide his identity. It’s why Mario & Co. didn’t recognize Mr. L and why the other minions didn’t recognize Luigi later on. The mask also hides that his pupils are red, so people won’t realize he’s brainwashed.

Due to the fact that Nastasia brainwashes people with a bright light, it can cause a victim to become sensitive to light. Mr. L ended up being one of those cases. The mask acts like sunglasses, and when he isn’t wearing it he becomes all squinty eyed.

In a similar vein to the last one, Mr. L has insanely good night vision as a side effect. It isn’t rare to find him working on something in a nearly pitch black room.

Very much an insomniac. Can and will stay up multiple nights in a row without any caffeine.

Takes an excessive amount of showers. He does not like the feeling of being dirty but constantly becomes covered in grime due to the nature of his work. He got yelled at multiple times for using all the hot water up before anyone else even woke up.

Doesn’t know how to cook. No one taught him because they either thought he already knew or didn’t want to deal with the hassle because it didn’t matter for the plan. (The real reason is I thought it would be funny).

Mr. L has no memories of before being brainwashed. He is winging everything, copying others without understanding the context/dynamics around the original behavior.

He isn’t actually that arrogant/cocky. He’s faking it until he makes it, cause if he can convince the world that he’s incredible and strong and untouchable, he is all of those things.

Mr. L is just as much of a scaredy-cat as Luigi, but turns that fear into aggression/cockiness. However, if he’s pushed far enough into a corner, Mr. L will start being visibly scared and have a fawn response.

The idea that he’s a person is lost on Mr. L. It wasn’t beat into him or anything, he just struggles to see himself as anything other than his self assigned role.
