i think i asked you this like 6 months ago, but what are some awesome korean hip hop groups? like more underground stuff i guess. thanks girl! i'm so jealous of your life btw. are you going to GW next year??? we should definitely have a reunion once you're back!!

hey! you've been making posts of quotations from 1Q84. i assume you have read it / are reading it. i've seen this book everywhere lately, which brings me to my question: what's it about?

Hmm that's kind a hard question haha. Basically, there are 2 main characters, Tengo and Aomame, and chapters alternate from their points of view. Tengo rewrites a manuscript that was submitted to a literature contest because it had a good story but was badly written. It gets published and blows up in popularity and he ends up getting involved with the original author of the story and a cult/religious organization that she ran away from. The world from the book is becoming reality and both he and Aomame are pulled into this alternate, parallel universe (1Q84). Meanwhile, Aomame also gets involved with this cult for different reasons. Her and Tengo's stories become more and more intertwined as the book goes on.

I probably did a crap job of explaining that, but it's a really good book! (and also 925 pages long...) I definitely recommend it, but if you've never read Murakami before you might want to start with a shorter book of his, like After Dark.
