Hi! I was scrolling good ole tumblr when I stumbled upon your LOVELY Ariel cosplay! You had every right to win that character likeliness award! Your cosplay is lovely! I was wondering how you made your Kiss the Girl dress though. Halloween is coming up and I wanted to be her! Can you help me out?

i have no idea how long this has been sitting in my inbox because tumblr didn’t tell me i had any messages so sorry i took a while to respond! 8c and thank you for your kind words on my ariel cosplay!

i did make the kiss the girl dress also, and it was actually pretty simple. the most complicated part would probably be the corset. a lot of people just buy a pre-existing one for that reason, but if you want the exact shape you’d probably have to make it yourself. i modified an existing corset pattern that i found at joanns (it was a simple costume corset, nothin fancy or historically accurate). the skirt is a simple circle skirt, which literally means it’s just one big circle with a hole cut in it for my waist. *this* website can help you figure out how to pattern a circle skirt for your size. i also wore a petticoat under mine for some extra poof. for the blouse i went with one more like the one her designer doll wore than the one she wears in the movie. it’s very simple to make if you’d like to do that version, being comprised entirely of rectangles with ribbon or elastic to gather the collar and sleeves. google “chemise pattern” and you’ll see what i mean.

Hiii! So I've been Hiccup cosplay stalking here on tumble and I stumbled across one of your photos of your face and I thought it was cute :3 sorry if that seemed creepy. Anyways, I plan to cosplay Hiccup from the first movie but I have no idea how to! Help? How did you do your cosplay for him? Sorry for bothering you!

With hiccup I made my top, belt and vest, but a lot of it is easy enough to buy. For the pants I used brown leggings, and for shoes I used brown ugg boots and added fur to the top.

The vest I made a little two small as I couldn’t afford a lot of the ‘fur’ but sadly I can’t explain the patterning as my friend helped me lot with that. But eBay has some good options, like this one.

Top wise I can’t remember the fabric I used but I tried to get as close to his colour as possible, used a normal shirt pattern with a bit extra of length down the bottom, and added some 'rope’ to the top and arms, again you could just buy a Eren Jaeger top from Attack on Titan as it is very similar, just adding the rope to the arms.

The belt I just got a scrap piece of pleather, sized it around my waist and added Velcro to it to keep it together.

My toothless I brought from Myer’s and he is hard to get a hold of!

For the hair I used my natural hair at the time, but I have an undercut now so I’ve recently brought a wig, from here; although I can’t vouch for quality yet, as it has not arrived yet.

DON’T FORGET THE FRECKLES! I often almost forget but they are part of the thing that makes hiccup so adorable. I use to just draw them on with eyeliner pencil because eh, makes them noticeable and what not but then I found this tutorial, I haven’t tried it yet but it looks awesome!!
